Do you believe in psychic powers, telepathy, etc.?

I know psychic abilities exist. I had a powerful nightmare about my brother being hit by a car and dying 3 days before that happened. My mom did too. We used to experience strange things before people close to us died.

Sadly, I seem to have lost this ability.

I get that all the time... well not all the time but enough to make me go hummm. And there are times when I swear I see a family memeber walking down the streets of town here (I live in China, most of my family lives in Canada), I send a message asking if so and so is alright, I get the message, yes, they are fine. A few days later I get another message saying that person had something happen to them. It doesn't always happen, but it happens a few times a year. One of my sisters is the same way.

I don't believe in psychic abilities or the "paranormal" or anything magical like that. I beleive some things can be explained by one very simple answer. How open are you to what is going on around you? It might sound kind of dumb, but if you think we might have all had the same ancestors, then we are all connected by blood. The closer you are in blood relation, then that might explain why some people are more sensitive to what is going on in ones family even if they are around the world. And I feel that some people are just more connected to others because of their personal evolution where they are just more naturally open to what is going on around them

I beleive it is possible to predict the future as well. But there is nothing magical or unexplained about it. The more information you have, the more accurate you can see the future.

Everything can be explained by science, just we are not able yet to be responsive enough to where science needs to lead us to understand. We are just closed off to all that is possible, many of us are buried in the past.

Need an example of that??? How many senses do we have? Did Franklin really fly a kite into a thunderstorm or did Disney just have us beleive that? Did Columbus really discover that the earth was round? And so many others. Even if you think you know the answers, double check them. You might be surprised to discover something different. What are the true answers, or which ones do people refuse to give up because it was what we were taught in school? How open are you to look at something you thought was fact from a new point of view? To me, that is the magic and the mystery that we should be discovering!!!

And no matter my own personal thoughts on this all??? I LOVE watching these kinds of shows and movies and reading these kinds of books!!!

Absolutely! I've had too many experiences to explain anything otherwise.

Exactly! To a great degree, the paranormal is something we have yet to understand. I think there is an explanation for everything. Just because we don't know what it is doesn't mean it is magic.

I think this is a good time to introduce a little Tim Minchin to this thread (link).

I've always wondered about this. I saw some tv shows about it and they all proved to be not so reliable.

I believe in the possibility, definitely. It's a little hard for me to claim sensitivity to ghosts and not believe in it (and for the record, I am usually of a scientific mind). That said, I don't think that the more overt powers (telepathy, telekinesis, etc.) are as common as some claim - if they exist, they're probably extremely rare.

On a semi-related note, it cracks me up whenever someone brings up the whole "humans only use 10% of their brain" thing. That's just a misinterpretation of how, a long time ago, we only understood what 10% of the brain did. People took that line to mean more than it did. The brain does more than think - it also operates pretty much everything your body does.

I think they are all con artists. Though my mom's psychic did win the lottery...

I've always believe that there is such things. I also think that children are more open to these ideas because they don't have such a closed set of rules and what is possible. As they grow they lose what they have. When I was younger would see things that no one else could and I would dream about stuff and It would happen the next day..... Now Im lucky if I remember my dreams at all

Sort of, but it's kind of a long-winded explination. I can't call anyone a fake or phony, but there are some things in this world that have yet to been explained by science, you know?
