Question for those in long term male/female relationships, or male/female marriages. WHO drives?

We always take my car, so I drive to where we are going, then if we go to dinner or out for drinks or something he will usually drive home since I'm a light weight and get drunk easy and drunk driving is just not cool.

I drive most of the time. I enjoy driving and also where we live, there are a lot of deer, etc. on the roadways. I tend to see them better than my hubby and he also has an issue with driving at night--so I always drive then.

He almost always drives, even if we take my car. The only time I drive is if he's been drinking or I'm taking him to the ER for something.

He criticizes my driving something awful and it makes me nervous. Once, when I was driving (because we were at my brother's house and he was doing shots with my brother and I refused to let him drive), he grabbed the gear shift while I was going 70 miles an hour and upshifted! I don't think I have ever given him a dressing down like I did that night. I actually pulled the car over to yell at him. I didn't have my foot on the clutch and we could have been killed! Luckily, I was able to keep control of the truck. He apologized, and he has to keep his hands away from the gear shift when I drive his truck.

If we are in my car, I drive most of the time. His car, he drives all the time. We mostly take my car because of the kids, so I end up driving most of the time.

I love driving, but it usually works out that he drives. I didn't drive all last winter, and we've had the camper on the truck all spring and summer, so I have driven exactly once in about 10 months. I used to love the driving of my old job. *sigh* And quite frankly, I don't need the "helpful" suggestions in regard to my driving when I do drive and he is passenger!

Even though I'm the one who is legally permitted to drive, we live in such a small community that he just drives.
We have a huge truck, and I'm not comfortable driving it. When we go to larger places though, I'm the one that drives.

We share a car, and split the driving pretty equally. And even though there's a height difference, we've somehow worked out a configuration that takes almost no adjustments to the mirrors and seat when we switch.

Neither of us have a license. We can't afford to run a car and are happy walking and taking public transport.

It really depends on which car we're taking. If it's the minivan, he'll drive, because I'm too much of a wimp to drive it since I'm not listed on the insurance for it. If we're taking my Nitro, we'll split it about 50/50, unless the kids are riding with us. (He can't fit into the passenger side if our daughter's car seat is in place, so that automatically makes him driver.)

Actually, I always drive. My guy doesn't even have a license, he used to have a permit but it expired because he didn't have a car to drive after some ex took his car, and never had it renewed.

He usually drives. I hate driving. On long road trips, like the 6 hour drive to my parents house, we split the driving evenly.

He has a better looking car... so he likes to flaunt it a lot. So we mostly take his car.

Well, my husband would like me to drive ALL the time, since he is an immigrant without documentation and technically shouldn't be driving (we're working on that..) However, I don't really like to drive, especially in-town, so I make him drive about half the time. When he gets his license he'll be driving all the time.

The Yukon is seen as "mine" and the Silverado is more "his". He usually drives when we take the truck, and I usually drive the SUV, barring one of us being a DD...

I drive in my relationship but my boyfriend doesn't have his licence yet. I think when he does he'll probably do most of the driving.

He usually drives, whether its his car or mine. For a few reason. He has been driving a lot longer then me, so he is a better drive (not that I ever tell him that) and it makes me nervous to drive when he is in the passanger seat. Plus I like to talk so I prefer to take the passanger seat onshort trips. Long trips, like going home for Christmas, we take it in turns

I put "she" as in me when I am with someone I ALWAYS do the driving.

bayosgil-I am not one to judge but if your husband doesn't have a license you shouldn't be "making" him drive. Bad things can happen if he is busted driving without a license depending on where you live.
