When responding to discussions do you just choose from those at the top of the list or do you look for ones that seem interesting to you?

Just to be contrary, I'm going with other.
I kinda do both. I start from the top but pick what looks interesting out of those. I'll go back a few pages if nothing strikes my interest on the first page.

I usually respond to the ones I am interested in. I am not a big fan of resurrecting ancient threads, so I try not to respond to them. Especially those which are a year or more old, unless something very new has been said.

I try to read what is on my wall, but when come to the forum it is usually whatever is on top.

I feel like the odd man out, because I try to go back until where I know I was last up to date. Sometimes it's only the first page, others it's back 20 pages.

I usually find something interesting on the first page, but I have no problem going back further if I can't find something good.

I usually look for something interesting, either something I want to learn about, or feel that I could make a meaningful contribution to. I will admit that sometimes I just need a break from homework and want something amusing.

On all the forums I go to, I try to respond to threads with fewer or no posts.
I start at the newest and just open stuff in new tabs.
Because taaaabbbbbsssssss. I open hundreds of them in the course of the internet.

Perhaps I should have chosen "other" as well, but... I generally choose to post in discussions that are both interesting for me and not too old; bringing up old threads is looked down upon in some communities, so I tread lightly.
