Former porn star Sash Grey spent the day reading to some kids at a school, causes uproar with parents and people everywhere.

I dont understand this, she didn't tell the kids who she was. She was dressed very nicely, not showing an inch of skin.

She responded to the outcry with the following statement: "I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent," she says. "I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am... I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."

I really do not understand the uproar, I mean some of the motivational speakers are people you do not want around your kids, so why is she any different? Just because she is an Ex porn star does not mean anything, she has every right to help out programs. I would not have a problem with her visiting my kids school to read to the kids. And if these parents give a crap about who is reading to the kids maybe they should be doing it their selves.

Anyone over 16 has something in the past that they may not want to make a big public announcement about. *shrug* Some of those may be more extreme than others, but I think it's pretty much irrelevant. If she'd showed up nude, well... that would be weird & creepy. But it's a totally different context. I'd just be glad someone was doing something educational for the kiddos that they might not normally get in school.

I say they obviously watched enough porn to know who she is, right. So this "disgusting" thing they say did, why are they watching it.

I hate people.

Maybe the people who are making a fuss about it just feel guilty for knowing exactly who she is and feel it's their duty to make it "right". Who knows why people do such asinine things. All I know is, at least those kids are being read to by someone who cares enough to do it. If only we had more caring genuine people in the world instead of ones who are full of stupidity and hate *sighs*

But seriously, I don't get why this is such a big deal. She didn't go in being all "ok kids, I used to have sex on camera for money now here's a story" she went in to read to the kids and try to add to their education. To me, it's like saying "your company can't help my church raise money because they sell sex toys" and it's just ridiculous. Why can't people just want to help?

Perhaps not. It could just be that she was announced as such, or one person knew who she was, and thus told everyone else.

I'd have no problem with her doing this at my (future) kids' school.

Yeah this is pretty stupid. Just because you don't agree with something someone has done in their past doesn't mean you should restrict what they do in the future, ESPECIALLY when they're doing something to help the community. There is NO REASON to be outraged about this.

It is stupid of the parents to be getting their panties in a twist. She didn't come in to read wearing lingerie while reading about gangbangs and orgies did she? Nope. The kids have no way of knowing about her past and are probably just excited to have someone come in and read to them.
