I close it when I have people over...but when I am home with just my kids I leave it open. They are very young and I need to hear whats going on at all time...as I'm sure you mommies out there understand

My wife and I leave the door open all the time. The only time we close it is when we shower, especially in the winter time when it is really cold and we want the bathroom a little warmer.

It depends which bathroom I use. The downstairs bathrooms I always close because they are in an area where others are around. Sometimes late at night when I'm up alone I won't shut the door all the way. I did the actual designing of my house and made the master bath without a door so...yeah that one is open to the hall connecting to the master bedroom.

I've only started shutting it when I don't have company since my son is older. When I shower I prefer to leave it open because whoever designed these apartments was an idiot and didn't put any way for the steam to vent out of the bathroom and I don't want the window open when it's well-below 0 (that's Fahrenheit) outside.

I leave it open when home alone. I can see the TV from the bath tub, so that used to be my relaxation time when we worked off shifts from each other, now that we work the same shift he says I can do that. No fun!
K locks the door when he showers, which is really annoying since I'm not going to burst in on him...mostly because I can't. I guess his mother was nosey and there was no privacy, his room at home even used to have a lock on it so now he does it all the time for most things.

With children in the house who follow you everywhere you go (I swear, they're worse than puppies sometimes), there is absolutely no point in closing the door most times. At night, when they're in bed, yes, generally it's closed, but for 3/4 of the day: OPEN.

If I'm home alone, door stays open. If it's just me and the lad, it depends. I might close it most- or part-way if I'm just peeing, but all the way otherwise. If parents/guests/other are around, the door is definitely shut.

I partially close it when I pee usually. If she is waiting for me or walks by and notices there is no sound, she will usually whistle the Jeopardy tune to help me start! If I'm sitting it is closed. My GF always closes the door.

As far as my guy goes, though...I'll often stick my head in to chat with him while he's peeing. He doesn't seem to have near the shy bladder that I do.

I leave it open if I am showering or peeing (my wife will close it on my though if she notices, she doesn't like to watch the peeing ). If I am sitting, it is always shut and locked, as that has become one of my only times to get a good solid 5-10 minutes of reading in. lol
