If that happens, will you buy all new 51 star flags? (Think of all the flags and flag patches on uniforms). Wow.....how much would that cost to replace them all???( every classroom...every policeman and soldiers shoulder....etc)!

Well, if they start sewing now...but changes to the flag have to be approved by Congress so you know how that goes, it'll take a decade.

Well they didn't exactly vote for statehood. The non binding resolution had 2 parts the first was do you want the status quo and that passed with 54%. the 2nd part was if you wanted 3 options with one being statehood. 64% of those voting voted for statehood. Problem is a large percent did not vote on the second question. I guess the vote got muddled.

That'd be a pain, 50 is such a nice number to remember. In all seriousness, neat, it's been a while since we've had a new state

I think we can squeeze on another star. However, I wish Puerto Rico was it's own country... I don't have a particulary good reason, but it deserves its own personhood as a country, not a merger.

I would love to see them be granted Statehood...how exciting. I know it's a hassle but worth it I think.
