i like both, with both you could go overboard, i think piercings are more for appeal while tattoos can have more meaning tattoos also feel better to get

Tattoos, I feel, are much more meaningful. I feel like it's very different to have an image on your body for the rest of your life than a hole.

I had both. A tongue ring can always come out, tattoos are forever. I prefer a girl with more piercings and fewer tats.

I have both but if I had to choose I'd go with tattoos. They're more unique while a tongue ring is really no different from someone else's.

For myself I like tattoos over piercings but can definitely see their appeal especially since they can be removed easily and leave little evidence that they were ever there.

I don't personally have anything "unique" in the way of piercings. Just the basic ears. However, I think that tatoos and piercings can be a great way for people to express who they are and what they are about. I would love to add a piercing or tatoo sometime in the future, but Im such a big baby that I think the piercing will come before the tattoo LOL!

I love both. But I like that piercings are as temporary or permanent as you want them to be. I'm too afraid of making a commitment, even though I really want tattoos...

i've had both, 17 piercings i've had, 10 of which were in my ears. i have 8 tattoos. i've taken all my piercings out except the 2 in my ears (one on each side). i get over piercings pretty quick, bored with them, but tattoos i can't. i like that about them.

I'm actually not especially crazy about either. It really depends on how numerous and noticeable they are. Ear piercings I'm okay with, but not nose piercings, for example. I like tattoos that are simplistic and smaller, or located on the back if they're bigger. They just don't look good to me on the arms and legs, for some reason.
I've thought about getting a small tattoo on the back of my neck or on my hip, or a tramp stamp, but I don't think I'll ever go through with it.

I like both piercings and tattoos (and have quite a few of both), but I prefer tattoos. It's difficult to be original with piercings, but with tattoos, you can alter anything to match your desires or personality. The most you can alter a piercing is by sticking a cool bit of jewelry through it.

The only piercings I like are lip rings and earrings. Other ones are a turn-off.
And for tattoos, I usually don't like them and it really depends on the subject matter and the quality of the art.. I like when men have tattoos going vertically along their ribs/side though. That's hot.

I just haven't found many piercings I really want or that would suit me. I only have one set of piercings on my "to do" list, but more ideas for tattoos.

Tattoo's at least they leave behind something that can be turned into something pretty. Piercings don't. They leave behind awful scars. I had a nose ring for awhile, worst choice ever.
I would rather get a stick figure tattooed on my nose then repeat that piercing. Not because of the pain during the piercing, but because of the 100's of times I snagged and ripped my nose ring and the infections afterwards. You have no idea how often you rub your nose on something until you get that piercing. I had snags multiple times a day, awful! Now that I decided to take it out (3 years ago), I am left with this scar that looks like a huge black head. I would never ever do that again. Sure some of my tattoos are messed up, but I can take those to someone to turn them into something pretty, but that scar on my nose will never go away.

I have both. I like both on a partner, but it's not something that i look out for. And i hate generic tattoos. If you're going to get something, get something personal! all four of mine hold deep meaning, and i have a lot more that I want to get but haven't figured out placement, color, tweaks and alterations that make them my creation.
As far as piercings go...i have the standard double lobe in each ear, plus a snug and rook in one ear, a retired tragus, a retired lip ring, retired nipple piercings (that i loved and have thought numerous times about getting redone) and a VCH that i absolutely love, will most likely never take out, and recommend to every woman that asks me about it.
Body mods = awesome.

I don't really prefer either of them. They're nice on some people, and not so nice on others. I guess I don't really have an opinion lol. I have no tattoos but many piercings.. just because I'd be scared of getting something permanent on my body lol

I was forced to choose none because there was not an option for other. My wife has no tattoos and only her ears pierced and I like the look. However, if done right, tattoos on a woman are extremely sexy, but if not done right look pretty bad. Piercings are the same way to me. If done right...hot! If they go overboard its just to much and takes away from the sex appeal.

Depends on them and where they are on the body. I have double pierced ears and a tattoo on my back but have always felt a little freaked out seeing piercing in the nose or lip, not really my thing. But that's just on me, I totally accept others that like them but for me, naw!
