I've never used it on sex toys but I love it as a treatment for skin irritation and for gentle cleansing.

My mom uses it for her sensitive scalp, never heard it used for sex toy cleaning.

It's a good topical treatment for antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal purposes, but I really wouldn't clean a sex toy with it. It's nice to add to regular cleaning agents for an extra boost of tea tree oil goodness, but on its own? No thanks. I'll stick with my liquid soap.

I don't think I'd trust it to be strong enough for cleaning sex toys. From using it medicinally, I'd say it has about the same amount of power as garlic for antibacterial purposes, and who would trust cleaning their toys with garlic?

I totally agree. Is garlic antiviral as well?

There are, obviously, differences between the two, though. You can't really get sick from consuming garlic, but taking more than a drop or two of tea tree oil can damage your nervous system (and your cats can get sick too). Garlic isn't as great of a topical treatment because it's smelly and...well, it's food. Tea tree oil smells more acceptable and it's an oil, so it's easier to apply.

Also? Garlic repels vampires.

"This sex toy smells like garlic! No thank you. I will use the one that reeks of tea tree oil instead."

The word 'vampire' now makes me think of the episode of the Office where there is a bat in the office.

Yes it is, along with an antifungal/antibacteri al, and yes you can get sick from consuming too much garlic, particularly if you're using a concentrated version. It can thin the blood and drop the blood pressure to dangerous levels if you're not careful. Mind that it takes a lot more than what most people eat to hurt you, but it does happen. Alan has used it for years to control his bp, so we know very well what it can do in that capacity.
You use it topically by employing garlic tincture or oil, but yeah the "good" ingredients do stink.

Repels vampires? Hmm... I forgot about that. Definitely not for the Tantus Vamp or the Succu-Dry Fleshlight then

Yes, correct, not a good solution to use for disinfecting your toys, as TTO is not nearly as active as other antibacterial and anti microbial agents, and I dunno if it would kill of yeast (for example)

However, I love the fact that you're thinking this way! Outside of the box is a great place to be.

I probably wouldn't use it to clean toys. I love it for my skin and it does excellent on some splotches of psoriasis that I have. I use the dishwasher for a few of mine.

I've used Tea Tree Oil hair treatments and um...I would not want that shizz near my snatch. It's like eucalyptus-y. Koalas might like it.

I wouldn't. Only because tea tree oil actually irritates my skin. I used to use it as a shampoo until I realized doing so was burning my scalp. Don't want that near my most sensitive parts!

I think I'd be afraid of cleaning my toys with that. But it's great for other uses.
