Technical question regarding videos and aspect ratio

Contributor: Kindred Kindred
In the past, I have used my digital camera to make my video reviews. It worked fine for my standard reviews, but I ran into some problems when I made my adult video. For some reason, the focus on the camera seems to remain fixed when I use it in video mode. Basically, the focus gets locked in at one focal point, and if I continue to zoom the image goes out of focus. Anyone have an idea how to correct for this?

I also tried to use my Flip camera which is in widescreen format. I use Windows movie maker and I changed the format to match. The video looks fine when I preview it. However, once I create the actual movie, the image is compressed laterally, presumably because of the widescreen format. Is this a problem with Windows Media player? Is it possible it will look normal on Eden Tube?

I'd like to have the feature of zoom when making future videos, but obviously don't want the images to appear squished. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
