As a firefighter I am very against texting and driveing. I have had to work too many car accedents where the driver has been texting and the majority of them have been people in there teens or early 20's. Just so you know some states do have laws about driveing and texting but its for certian age groups. I dont think it matters how old you are, its too much of a distraction.

I did it more often when I had a half QWERTY keyboard and could type easily without looking at all, then would proofread at red lights. I'd wait until red lights to read too. Now I have a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and I wait until red lights to read or respond at all to a message. I keep an eye out for the lights to change so I'm not the ass who doesn't move for 20 seconds after the light turns green, and when it does I stop what I'm doing and tuck my phone under my leg until the next red light. If it's really important I'll just call, otherwise they can wait. If it's dark out, they'll normally wait until I get to where I'm going. I don't like having the cell phone lit up in the car at night, even when I'm not the one driving.

I never text when I'm driving. If I'm stopped I'll probably take a quick peek at my phone to see if I have any. I wouldn't actually physically text though, unless I'm parked in a parking lot.
I don't like it when someone even touches their phone while driving. Though, if I'm in the car with someone who likes to text at stop lights. I automatically become their second eyes. I will tell them when the light turns green if they aren't paying attention.

I remember one time I was going out on a date with this one guy. He picked me up and we were on our way to the destination. He takes out his phone... Starts driving with his knee and texting with both of his hands while driving! Lets just say I didn't even think about going on another date with him.

Where I live, it is against the law to text while driving.
That being said, I do text while driving if I'm out in the woods. There are no other vehicles, so if I'm to get in a wreck, I'm only hurting myself.
I never, ever do it in the community. Too scary.

I would never, ever do it. It's simply not worth the risk, and those who claim that they are totally safe while doing it are being incredibly irresponsible, in my opinion. Nearly every time I notice a driver doing something dangerous (drifting on the interstate is the most common), I can see that they are using a cell phone. Much of the time they seem oblivious to what's going on.

It's super dangerous. I used to do it, but I don't anymore. It's serious business and not something casual that someone should look over.

I don't have a licence, but I curse at those I know who text whilst driving. It's far too dangerous. It's one thing to be on the phone talking (which is distracting enough as is) but texting as well? Hell no.

I usually only do it at red lights or while in stand-still traffic. It's too hard otherwise, and also too dangerous.

I don't text while driving, ever. We so much as get caught with our phone in our hand or just touching it in plain sight of a cop while driving and we're getting fined, etc. I don't take any chances with that.

When I first started driving I used to do it all the time. I thought it was safe since I only had to read the text then type back, and I could type back without looking at the phone, but I was wrong. Even if I wanted to I couldn't QWERTY keyboards make that impossible for me, and having a touch screen just made it worse.

I do it sometimes, but usually if it's something that can't wait. I'll call before I'll text in the car, though.

I never bothered to get my license. If it did drive, though, I wouldn't text. It's just too dangerous.

I've never done it. However I've seen my mom text while at a light. I don't know how i feel about that either.

I do. But don't do it that often. It isn't safe at all.

I rarely text while driving, although there is a law it's a bit difficult to enforce. And honestly I'm more likely to be using my phone's GPS rather than texting but it all looks the same.

I would text and drive frequently when I had my old original enV. I just used the number pad on the front. Now that I have an iPhone, texting without looking is near impossible. I rarely, if ever, text while driving.

I've only done it a few times at a light...I hardly ever do though. I do change my song on my phone a lot which probably looks like I'm texting when I'm not.

I never answer my phone or reply to text messages while driving. There's no reason to do so. Just pull the heck over and call the person back or reply to a stupid text. Because I tell you what, if I or my family gets killed or seriously injured over someone being too stupid to pull over for a call / text I'm kicking someones ass. Even if it's from beyond the grave, lol.
