I had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I went over to my sister's and helped her cook. I got to spend time with her, my brother-in-law and their kids! The dinner turned out great! We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and a few other things, and had a good time all around. Lots of fun and laughter. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much!

Mine was.... ok. lol. My whole family was together which is rare so that part was nice (I guess? lol) My mom was on the phone long distance to her sister the whole time so that was super annoying. My dad and my brother are the most racist homophobic people I know (that smoke, which I hate) so hearing them chatting and laughing wasn't that great either. Plus we're all broke so no Black Friday shopping. It definitely could have been better... Everyone seemedto just take off quickly after they ate. Of course they told me thank you but then they just ran off. My mom was still on the phone when she left so she whispered to me.

But hey, I cooked a perfect turkey this year! It was nice and brown and perfectly done. I made my on cranberry sauce with orange zest. It was delicious.

It was a bit of a surreal Thanksgiving for us. We got together as a family, but my grandmother passed away last week, so we were all melancholy, it just didn't feel complete without her there. The food was great and we had a good time, there was just a pall over it for me this year.

My boyfriend came over since his family is in another state and he didn't want to go to another friend's family dinner because his friend's girlfriend has issues with him (like the fact that he refused to take advantage of her being the group's bicycle).

So my mother hovered the whole time and made me nervous while cooking (I ended up spilling half a bag of frozen peas down the sink when I opened it). At one point I whispered, "Now you can see where I get my neurotic tendencies from." He nodded in understanding. Once my mother ate, she went off to bed for her nap and I was able to relax, so he and I watched Britcoms and cuddled.

My parents like him. Although when my mother found out one of the surnames in his family is the same as her maiden name (which is more common than she thinks), she started going weird and acting like he and I were first cousins or something, and muttering, "I'm glad you can't have children." *eyeroll* For Christ sake, Mom ...

Mine was good, everyone was late but we expected it so we didn't get stressed out like last year. Hahaha. My niece turned one last month, and she was running all over the place being adorable. C:

Mine sucked as usual. Bringing politics to the dinner table and stuffing myself in the closet so far I'm frolicking in Narnia does not make for a fun time.

Yeaaah, Thanksgiving makes me bitter. :|

Thanksgiving has never really been a huge deal to me, so I didn't mind working all day (though I wish I had been paid time & a half!). I'm a college student & my family lives four hours away, so seeing them wouldn't have been much of an option even if I had been off work since I worked on Wednesday & also today.

It was pretty good. The food was pretty nice, even though we didn't make it this year. Spent time with family. Only bad thing were the desserts. They were terrible.
