95% of the time I turn it off. We don't have a tv in our bedroom so that makes that easy. We do have netflix so I can access it on my phone if I really need something to fall asleep to. I did watch tv to fall asleep when I was younger so sometimes it is more about old habits dying hard.
Yep! I can't stand the quiet. It gets so strange so I have the TV on constantly, but hardly watch it. Recently I had my TV mess up and it had no audio and drove me insane! I went through a new satellite box and 2 freakin tv's and finally took over our kids huge flat screen the other night. lOl
I don't know why but if I'm not staying with my fiance I fall asleep better with the tv on and the volume to barely audible. I guess because I don't feel alone? When I wake up early into the morning I sometimes turn it off. I need to stop this habit because from my psych class I've learned that if you already have sleeping problems that doing this is bad for you. Even though you fall asleep and don't pay attention your mind isn't getting the pure restful sleep it needs because your brain is still processing and interpreting the background noise of the tv. I just can't seem to fall asleep without it though. I'm looking forward to moving in together so I don't have to continue this habit. I think it has something to do with a few years ago a family friend was dying of cancer and I visited her and seen what it did to her and that was the night I started sleeping with the tv on. I just didn't want to be alone in the dark with the thoughts and sadness and I've done it ever since unless my fiance is sleeping with me.
