Grits are one of my favorite foods. My parents made them all the time when I was younger.

Krystals and whitecastles are amazing but not all the time. I live 2 hours from the closest one so its nice when I go back to my families town to stop and get a couple!

I'll eat pork rinds, though I'm more or less indifferent to them. I'm not a fan of grits, but my husband absolutely loves them, especially when they're cheesy. I can't stand White Castle, and haven't tried any of the others.

I was quite disappointed when I went to the store the other day. I like grits and I grew up eating them but I don't want them all of the time. I was walking through the aisles desparately trying to find REAL grits. Not instant, not quick, REAL takes 20 minutes to cook like rice grits. Nope. Nada. I settled for the five minute version and was not at all happy with the texture. Waffle House seems to be the only place with real grits these days.

Nope, I don't understand why pork rinds, grits or boiled peanuts are uncommon for some people. White Castle is mandatory on a cross-country road trip; besides, didn't Harold and Kumar popularize it?

Kiss my grits!

I really like grits or polenta (typically the same grade of cornmeal). I've never heard of the peanuts and cola thing.

I got so excited when I saw boiled peanuts I didn't notice salted peanuts in coca cola. I like them both but I have moved out West and have not found decent boiled peanuts since. It was so easy to get them back home!

Now I think I will start looked for salted peanuts and coke to drink/eat around town.

The only one I do not know about is the Salted Peanuts IN Coca-Cola, but it sounds good.

Do you like Rocky Mountain Oysters? Anyone?
A lot of Southerners refer to anyone from the rest of the country as a "Northerner." Kind of like how all soft drinks are "Coke."

Fried pickles are so good, just sounds kinda gross. You dip them in ranch, Some places have the small pickle slices, like you use on burgers. Othger places have the large slices which are a little crispier.

I've lived back and forth both north and south usa. But I've never even heard of the peanuts thing. Now, pork rinds.... love em!

I chose north and south because I was born in NJ, raised all over the south, and now live in NY.

I flipping love boiled peanuts and grits. White Castle tastes like cardboard, though, and Pork Rinds are just nasty. I've never been to Krystal's. And I've had salted peanuts with Coke, but not in them.
