That is the most touching story I've read today. I'm guessing he made it back to his family? What did you do with the tape?

He was one of the first battalions to be deployed. He was killed on October 19th 2001 at only 28 years old. He was with the 3rd battalion 75th ranger regiment. The miltiary sais he died after his chopper was shot down by hostile fire, I say he died doing what he loved witch is deffeding his homeland.

His family is doing well, his little boy dreams to be a ranger.

Sadly throughout the military these stories are all to common.

Wow ... I know this is a reality I have to deal with everytime one of my soldiers deploys but I've been very lucky to get my family back every time.

It's just so heart breaking when you see a young, loving person have their life cut short. It's especially hard to deal with when they do it for a job and it's a risk they accept. Because then you kind of have a warning, but it's never easier.

But he and all of our other fallen military service men and women are all heroes and we won't let them be forgotten.

In my home getting ready for a parent teacher mtg regarding my oldest son. It was THAT mtg that saved my life. I would've normally been on the 92nd floor of Tower 2, WTC by 8am, but was scheduled to go in by 1pm that day instead.

In the midst of my morning rush, my mom called our home hysterically asking about me. Not understanding a word of her hysteria, my husband passed me the phone. All I remember was her screaming omg you're still home & turn on the tv now! Not having a clue to what was going on, I found it annoying that she was messing with my morning flow, but this was not like her so hubby turned on the tv. I remember seeing the news, but in my effort to make out what was going on with her I wasn't listening to the live broadcast on what already had been the first tower hit. I told her to let me go, that I was going to watch it & I'd call her back, still thinking it was just a freak accident.

Unfortunately it was then that in real time I watched a world I had called my own shatter. I was very familiar with those bldgs & knew that 2nd plane took a direct hit to the floor I worked on. I remember mumbling "omg my friends, my job" or something like that, my knees buckled & thank goodness for the support of my wall. The rest is all a blur & my memory is only based on what people tell me happened next.

I agree.......its deffintily heartbreaking.

When I joined the USMC I didnt believe all the brotherhood stuff after a few weeks it all made sense its undescribable. I work proccesing new marines and part of my job is to take down next of kin info. There mood always changes when it comes to those forms. Its like loosing family sometimes when I here someone died in war. Its a cold harsh reality.

A good friend of mine was wondering whats harder living with ptsd, death in one ear, and also multiple phisical injuries or being dead. Its a sad sad thing, but I Feel for him. Sometimes its the ones that live that struggle. I however cant thank all the serice men and women enough for all they do weather it be past present or future.
