What a weekend! No electric for the whole weekend!

We had really bad storms go through here on Friday, and didn't have electric until late last evening -- over 50 hours without it! My garage door is electric, and I wasn't strong enough to open it myself, so I was stuck! I lost over $100 of food that spoiled, but it could have been more, I tend to shop in bulk -- a friend had electric and extra room in her deep freeze so she stopped by and took some of the more expensive stuff from my freezer, so really happy it's only about $100 of food that spoiled.

Didn't get Internet back until today. All in all, it was pretty quick. We were told to expect it to be out five to seven days. It was in the 90s during the day and without even a fan, it was pretty miserable.

I don't have a generator, but some of my neighbors do, and it sounded like I was living in the middle of a power plant! Ha ha!

I don't even have a grill, so I had no way to cook over the weekend. I think, maybe I should get a grill so if this ever happens again I can fix some basic stuff!

Doing a major grocery shopping trip tomorrow.

Ugh, what a way to spend the weekend! We've had a water emergency for the last couple of days, but expect it will be lifted before July 4th.

I'll take having to boil water over losing my air conditioning / cable / internet any day.

Absolutely! It was miserable. I could check e-mail and Facebook but no much else online because my phone doesn't have a great browser on it.

Of course, showers were totally cold because didn't want to drain the hot water heater. I felt like I was camping but indoors and unprepared for it!
