What do you enjoy reading when viewing a member's profile short bio?

Contributor: Breas Breas
So of course, there is the mandatory information like sex, location, etc but there is also an optional section for a "short bio" which I have not filled out yet. I went to do this the other day and I wasn't exactly sure what I should write about myself. When it comes to talking about myself, I have a hard time figuring out what to say.. lol...

So I wanted to ask the community, when you visit another persons profile and they have a bio about themselves, what do you really enjoy reading? I've posted a few ideas of what can go into a bio, if you like reading these specific things, please check them off (you can check as many as you want).

If there is stuff you do not enjoy seeing in others bios, please explain what that is and why in the comments below.

This is a great question! I picked sex toy preferences, but I can tell that from the items they've reviewed. I also picked sexual lifestyle preferences. Are they dominant or submissive? Part of the GLBT community? I want to know a little about their sexual desires so I can gain some perspective from people with different backgrounds and interests. I look for diversity and people who are different from myself. Sometimes you can learn a lot about someone from what they say in that small space. It gives you a peek at their personality.

I'm going to have to come back to this post after a bunch of people have posted to it, so I'll know what to put in my own profile. Outstanding question!

Stuff that can't be answered by the location/age/etc prompts or whatever - how they came into who they are (how they identify their lifestyle), what they're doing in their lives right now, their philosophy. Stuff that really puts a snapshot of the personality in words. It's very frustrating when I look up people (who are either following me or have posted something really interesting) and they don't have anything in their bio. It sometimes seems strange, especially when they write something witty in a post but they have nothing in their bio to showcase more of their wit.

Really not a big fan of seeing anything about politics or religion on non-political/religiou s medium. Simply because they're things that can bring out the best AND the worst in people.

Huh---I am always happy to read what people write, regardless of what it is. I prefer when it's pithy, though.

(After typing that, I went and looked at what mine says... and it's probably too long for my own tastes, but it's about sex toy preferences so seems like the majority doesn't mind )

I read almost everyone's bio info; less is more. I think it's incredibly helpful to post personal toy preferences just so I know if toys that work for them will work for me. I also don't mind finding about their gender and sexual orientation- it's helpful to know if a toy for a trans man may work for me or not.

I think it's weird when some people post their whole life story though. Yes, it's nice that you've met toys X months ago, or you have X kids or you have political affiliations or anything along those lines, but I really don't feel that's appropriate for a sex toy review program.

I like info on sex toy preferences so I know if I should follow reviews by that person. Relationship status is nice just to get to know more about them. I didn't see the last option when I voted, but I'll read it no matter what it says.

Mine is a novel, much like everything I write. I'm sure no one reads the whole thing. LOL. I put all my preferences so if someone is interested in following me they can decide if they want to without having to go through all my reviews.

I actually just look for the reviews on the profile.
