I prefer to wear nothing, actually. Though if I had to, I'd pick gloves.

Gloves are good for dexterity, and in places where you have a little bit of warmth (before your car has warmed up, for example), but if you've actually gotta keep warm, mittens keep your fingers together! Lobster gloves are a reasonable compromise if you need a bit of dexterity but you still need to keep warm.

I prefer gloves, but I have these mits that have individual fingers inside. It's quite awesome.

I'm a glove girl but I do have a few pairs of mittens that fold back into fingerless gloves.

Depending on what I'm doing and how cold it is, I'll wear either gloves or mittens. I still have both my Army mittens and gloves.
