What have you worked the hardest for???

So, today is Labor Day here in the US, and although I know it's not really related to the day, exactly, I thought it was a fun question to ask So...what have you worked the hardest on in your lifetime? It could be a job, a relationship, school, whatever!!!

I know for me, there have been a couple of examples.

One of them would be school. Working full time and taking 25-30 credits per semester in school all 4 semesters to cut the time to get my Ph.D in less than half. Not easy! Especially when you need to make honors!

The other, which has been more rewarding than anything is my current relationship. We both came from a darker place prior to meeting one another and so we both had some problems in trusting others, relying on someone else, etc., and we've come a long way. We've had some strange arguments and with our living situation it hasn't been easy. It isn't always great, it isn't always fun, but it's always been worth it, no doubt about it!

Something I worked really hard for was an interesting situation. I fell in love with a girl I worked with. She never had a girlfriend before and even though she was aware of my sexual preferences it never phased our friendship, although she was a little more distant. It took awhile, but I won her over. We are now a year and a half into our relationship and I love her more than ever (and now she feels the same way!)

my family. We all work hard to take care of our family. You go to school to get a higher paying job, you do a job you do not like doing, you buy a home, a safe car, insurance, ect. All those things are done for a better future, not only for yourself but your family.

Congrats! I'm very happy for you both! I suppose that would be pretty tough, working around her never having dated a woman before, because you always have those fears associated with whether you should make that leap or not! I'm glad it worked out for you and that you've been together for a good while now!
