Some of us are lucky and can afford pretty much any toy here, others have to scrimp and save and yet others have to down right sacrifice to afford some adult toys. Regardless of that difference, it might be interesting to see how many people fall into each area of cost limit. There must be a mental "stop sign" for everyone, regardless of income, as to what a "sex toy is worth".

What is YOUR limit? Mind you, I am NOT including a line for such things as $6000-$10,000 sex dolls...which ARE indeed, for sale. That is kind of a unique niche market.

So what is YOUR mental "spend limit" for ONE toy?

I put $200-$250, but it would have to be amazing, and something I couldn't get with another toy. I'd also have to spend a really long time saving for it, since disposable income isn't exactly something I have at the moment.

I would buy a toy that originally costs $200-$250, but I could never pay the full price. I would save up edenpoints and take advantage of discounts. I would probably only pay about $150-185 out of my pocket.

An expensive toy gives repeated pleasure that benefits health, much better return on investment than a health insurance premium that can run $500/mo. That would be a dozen luxury toys a year.

Another perspective: the number of pleasurable nights a $500 luxury toy would provide, far surpasses the amount of pleasure you'd receive from a high-end escort, which might be none at $500.

It really depends for us.

If we can justify it and save for it, we will buy it. We tend to purchase high quality items and they usually cost a pretty penny. If it is a toy we can both use, and it can be considered 100% body safe, multi-function/multi-p urpose, the dollar threshold can be considerably high.

I am a practical buyer/spender; I can't see spending several thousand dollars on a gold plated g-spotter, when I can get the same thing in silicone for only $100 or so. There is a difference between frivolousness and functionality.

I put other, because it depends on my disposable income. Right now, it's quite low, so I wouldn't be able to pay much at all. But if I had $500 or more disposable, and saw a toy that I considered would give me that much value, I wouldn't feel bad about spending that much. How many people spend hundreds on a game console or thousands on a television? I get more pleasure from my sex toys than I do from tv.

I put $200-$250 but that's probably because I haven't seen anything above that price that strikes my interest. If something came out above that and I couldn't live without it I might reconsider. Over $250 and I'd start to feel like I was investing way too much money on a sex toy. If I ended up disappointed I might never buy anything again. I don't know. I think my ultimate "absolute NO" might be $500, my usual "no" falls at $250.
