I had to fire someone today. The worst, most awful feeling imaginable. That person took it amazingly well (they knew it was not my call, in this case), and yet it was still the worst part of being in a managerial position. Horrible on a human level. On the other hand, I was able to offer a few people jobs today...and got someone a nice raise they deserved. Still didn't make up for having to give someone the pink slip, but still????

SO...what is the nicest and worst thing YOU did for anyone today?

I protested when someone used the phrase "that is so gay" in a derogatory way. After calling them out and sugggesting them to use "that is so bad" or "that is so stupid" when they really mean bad/stupid, they proceeded to call me gay, pussy, and all sorts of nonsense. After telling them I don't have a pussy, and I wasn't gay, they then stretched their attacks to jews, people with Downs' syndrome, and even more nonsense. Sigh, how many immature idiots do I have to educate in order for this kind of crap to stop? I guess it never ends, but I made a point that it's not acceptable to call something "that is so gay" with a negative connotation, even though I know they will not likely change their way of thinking.
