What is the sexiest word in the English Language?

Contributor: Bethy Cassatt Bethy Cassatt
Some of my friends and I were arguing over the sexiest words, and since all of us are English majors, it can get a little silly.

One of my friends has declared that the words he finds most appealing are associated with water for whatever reason, like soaked and drenched.

I find some words are sexual when it could describe food, like succulent and vivacious.

What do you guys think?

This was sort of a topic of conversation with the publisher I was interning for. She called it "synthenesiac(?) descriptors" - using the senses to describe attributes. Like the "water" words would be tactile, and your "food" words relating to taste.

I don't really have a word that sounds sexy to me. Phrases, but not words. And perhaps Baudeliere's poetry in the original French.

...I think my favorite is luscious, it always reminds me of a nice pair of large, squishy breasts or a cute, spankable, curvy bottom. =^.^=

I always get a bit of a thrill from the word "gentle." Especially when applied to men who are physically powerful. I guess I've always had a little bit of a damsel in me, hiding behind the pervert.

It depends on how I'm feeling. I like "decadent" and "sensual" and "indulgent."

Extravagant words, in general, are what I find attractive.

If I had to pick just one, though, it would be sensual.
