Let's face it, it's already really really bad when you see a band do it, but what is the worst thing someone could do to really ruin the illusion?

I hate lip syncing, but I honestly don't usually notice it. I'm more likely to notice it in music videos than anything else, I think.

I don't really notice it but I suppose if they "sing" the wrong words it might be easily noticeable considering the person or people singing are usually the main focus.
It's probably easier to tell in something like a music video though, since the person is nice and compact in front of your eyes and you can watch every move more closely than you could at a concert.

The only time I'm really okay with lip syncing is when that's the point. college performances and drag shows- stuff like that

Lip syncing is bad regardless...nobody does it perfectly.
