We just got a kitty from the shelter and her name is Haven...but we can't decide if we want to leave her name, or change it to Clementine. What are your thoughts?

I like both names. Clementine seems more like a cat name.

I like Haven, it symbolizes that you rescued her from the shelter and your home is now her Haven.

We decided to change her name because it's a tradition for my boyfriend to change the name of a shelter pet because it symbolizes a new start for her. She looks like a Clementine too

I love the name Clementine, but if she's already Haven, why not wait for your next pet for a Clementine?

Haven sounds fine. I know that, for me, it doesn't matter what the cat is really named, I'll be calling it 'baby' or 'kitty' or 'fuzzy face' instead of its name anyway in no time.

When I adopted two cats from the shelter, they encouraged me to feel free to change the cats' names. They respond to tone of voice and will quickly adapt to a new name you give them. My cats can't differentiate one name from another - I call one and I call them both.
