What will you/did you do for Valentine's Day?

Contributor: Kynky Kytty Kynky Kytty
We don't always have to be a couple to enjoy Valentine's Day, and I know I'll enjoy my day tomorrow.

I love living with myself and I'm happy. So I'll just celebrate in my own ways and go through some pampering. I know it's nothing romantic, but I'm also going to a really nice French restaurant with some relatives and have fun.

I know it's a little early to what ask you did for Valentine's Day, but if you already planned your day or want to share after tomorrow. Go ahead.

How did you make it special for you and/or your couple?

I'm hoping this year doesn't repeat last year, because I'd like very much not to go to the junkyard again today, lol.

Although I could use a few things.. lol

It hit me today that I'm divorcing. I wanted to divorce, but it just totally hit me that he's not 'there' anymore, even though he never did much. And the boyfriend is boycotting V-Day because of his own past relationship traumas, so I'm not going to hear anything from him today.

Men are so fucking selfish on this day.

And hmmm yeah that sucks, the only time I had a great Valentine's Day, I had to organize and pay for everything. For my first VD ever, the guy just called me to wish me a good day... Yeah, sucks big time. You should cook an awesome meal and make him regret of not being there with you.

But I thought you were already divorced? You will have to explain me that.

If all else fails, let's go on a girls' night out, shall we?

Ours is a bit different than usual, due to a bad shoulder injury. I did get my 2 dozen roses, which are gorgeous! My husband is on copious amounts of drugs, although he'll be off them for some careful fun tonight. We are forgoing the going out to dinner and a movie (Wolfman) since I don't think he'd be comfortable in the theater, but I am going to cook up something nice. We'll settle for a "romantic" movie later on.

Well, right now I'm trying to do research for a pharmacogenomics paper. It's so boring and dry, so I find myself playing games and checking the forums instead.

Tonight my friend is having a party for all the single people in our group. I'm going to be an honorary single because of my LDR. My boyfriend is spending the day with "the guys", watching NASCAR and drinking.

we had a VERY rushed visit yesterday. We both felt like we had to get a whole weekend of fun crammed into a 2 hr hangout.

We did a little EF work together and then cuddled for a little bit...then more EF fun.

Today: She's doing homework and studying while celebrating New Year's at her parent's place. I wasn't paying attention and ate a whole Lg pizza by myself while working on files (my job)...still feeling icky.

I don't think men get selfish on this day, I think a sense of entitlement pops up. For more information on Valentine's Day, check out the History channel's website or the slightly more dubious wikipedia.

Valentines Day really isn't a big deal at all here, but it was decided among our friends that we should have a single ladies' night to celebrate. We went and had a nice dinner and a few drinks, then wandered along to check out nearby pubs, which were all absolutely dead, so we went into the city centre instead. As we have a really big festival going on at the moment we wandered up there to sit in among all the acts and beautiful lights and drank some more on a double decker bus which had been turned into a little bar for the event. Then we rolled downstairs to catch a 11:30pm male burlesque show jam packed with delicious gay men doing amazing, amazing things. It was hilarious and awe-inspiring, lots of feats of strength and acrobatics and aerial work. Best part was that a ticket to that was practically cheaper than a mixed drink! So, it wasn't a romantic Valentines Day, but it was a lot of fun.

We had wonderful plans for today. We were going to get lunch at this lovely little Greek place in town, then spend the whole afternoon and evening alternating between watching movies together, cuddling, and having lots of sex. Because of medication, we haven't had much, so we were going to make this a sort of celebration of the fact that I'm gaining my sex-drive back, and a celebration of our relationship.

Instead, I got a bad case of bronchitis. I may or may not also have Mono (I'll find out later this week). I'm only truly coherent for short stretches (like now). So instead, for Valentine's Day he got me a dozen red roses and a big "I love you" balloon, and he cuddled beside me on the couch all day. Crazy as it sounds, it was one of the most romantic Valentine's Days I've ever had, because really, he's already living the vows we've started to talk about: in good times and bad... in sickness and in health.

My boyfriend and I went Snowboarding, and had a nice dinner next to the fireplace in the lodge. After that we took a nice hot shower to get rid of the cold chill from being out on the mountain all day. We ended our night by cuddling and watching a romantic movie. It was the perfect Vday for us

Yes, yes you do. We're not engaged yet, but we've decided to get married a few years down the line. We're thinking of getting engaged after I graduate with my BS, then get married while I'm working on the next stage in my education.

Why not get engaged right now, then? Because the instant we do, we'll hear nothing but "when do we see BABIES! OMG WE WANT TEH BABIEZ!" We figure we'll get engaged when we're ready to set a date.

Has anyone watched the Parks and Recreation show for Valentines Day? They celebrated Galentines Day in the show as a bunch of girls getting together to celebrate just being girls. Got gifts for everyone and had a nice meal together. A few of my girl friends are going to do that soon.

Our celebration was more of a weekend than a single day. Friday he sent me orchids to work as a surprise then we did a romantic dinner out followed up by photo night at our public playspace. FANTASTIC Greek food at 2 am before crashing. Saturday was a long scene at the dungeon, more fantastic Greek food, this time at 3 am before crashing out again. Waking up Sunday morning to awesome sex before heading home and snugging up on the couch for a long, lazy day punctuated with the best nap ever.
