When buying a new car...Do you buy whenever you're ready or do you wait until the new model year version is released?

Just curious. I'm ready for a new vehicle but I'm waiting until the summer when the 2014 version of the vehicle I want is released.

I buy a 'new to me' used vehicle when I need one, lol!! I admit I do get bored with my vehicles fairly rapidly (with the exception of my classic truck and my Aurora), so by getting cheaper ones I can justify a new one every few years.

I won't buy a car just because a new model comes out. I'll buy one when my current vehicle starts having enough mechanical issues to justify it. With that said, I'd try to wait it out if new models are on the way. My current vehicle is getting to the point that I'd consider replacing it if the right deal comes along.

I've never had a new car, so I have no idea.

That's pretty much what we do. We just got a "certified pre-owned Prius" about a month ago, after my wife's "old faithful" Honda Civic finally reached the end (300+ K miles). We love the Prius even more than we loved the Civic and will almost certainly keep driving it until it won't go anymore.

I buy when there is a good sale. I have never needed to buy a new car right this second, every purchase has been a timed purchase done on my schedule.

I tend to buy used, but I'd probably wait until the new model to come out so I could get last year's model for less

don't get a new model if it's a brand new design, not a facelift. new models always have kinks that takes 2 to 3 years to work out.

We only buy used-when we are ready and find one at a good price. New cars depreciate at a ridiculous rate as soon as you pull out of the dealer lot.
