When You're Pregnant

My best friend just found out that she was pregnant. Everyone is overjoyed. My girls are 13 & 14, so it's been a long time since they were babies.

Tonight I told her to make sure she starts standing in front of her fridge in yoga pants pulled down below her little belly and wear a sports bra. Take a picture - mark the date and how far along she was.

I love the idea of having that memory captured for my child, but I didn't think to do those things when I was pregnant. I was really young and just not in that kind of headspace.

So, what interesting tips do you have, that I could give her, to do from pregnancy - newborn?

You can do those molds of your belly now. I would have done one myself, but I felt so much like a beached whale at the time that I didn't want to have it forever captured in a mold. I think if you can get past that it's a cute idea.

I did take pictures the whole way through as bad as I felt about my size. I think that's a good idea.

I also made a video to my son right before I had him (I had a planned C section though so it was a bit easier for me to do). I kept a diary of how I was feeling and what was going on in the pregnancy. I wrote little letters to my son about how much I loved him and the things I hoped for him and his life. He's only three now, but when he's older I hope to give him those things.

I too kept a dairy of my pregnancy for both my boys. Of course, the majority of mine was I was to sick to get out of bed and I was starving, but it is fun to look at now.

I started a scrap book for them each too.

I am 10 weeks into my first pregnancy. I'm trying to be diligent about writing things down each day, and keeping a journal. I am going to start a scrapbook now too to document the pregnancy. I hope to do a mold of my belly before I deliver. Since I'm a thick woman my belly isn't popping yet, but I am gaining and I have noticed a difference for sure.
I had to buy belly pants yesterday because even my fat pants don't fit right. I can tell it's in my belly shape and not the rest so it's more pregnancy than fat belly. Right now I'm tracking waist size by inches and soon we'll be doing the picture thing with the belly growing for our album.

These all good, so keep 'em coming.

Has anyone take the naked pictures while preggers?

Also, the newborn nestled in just the father's hands?
