Polls are easier to look at to get an overall opinion. The discussion part of a poll is also important, though...

One of my pet peeves is seeing a yes/no question posted as a discussion thread instead of a poll.

It really depends on what the topic or question is. I think both are very helpful, and I'm glad we have the options.

Depends on the topic, but mostly i gravitate to the polls. It's just interesting to quickly see what most people think

It doesn't matter whether it's a poll or a discussion as long as the topic is an interesting one. I only skip the meaningless topics since I have an impression they're posted to rack up Eden points.

Polls receive a better response and are easier to answer but the variety of information will be less.

I've noticed that in some cases the polls will devolve into discussions because of the topic. Generally the polls are quicker, and have much shorter answers/responses if any. Generally the discussions tend to be for deeper issues and have longer and more thoughtful answers.

I really go by title usually. I am online quite a bit so the polls don't take too much time for me to read so I tend to like discussions better. I like reading everyone's opinions. usually in the polls, its a simple, quick answer like "do you participate in anal sex" people either reply with "yes" or "no" in the poll, then they say it in a comment. The discussions take a lot more time, but since I have so much time, I don't mind.
