I just busted out my longhandles this morning for the first time (excluding vacation) since last spring. I'm outdoors a lot (for work and for hobbies), so I have a wide range to choose from.

Which kinds of long underwear do you wear, and why?

So, is short underwear for hot climates?

Even when living in the north I had no need for it since I produced a lot of my own heat (the only parts of me that got cold were my hands and feet). But I am really loving the style of Softskins nightgown link and long underwear link ... I might get it when I visit Master in England.

I don't usually wear any kind of underwear, and not long underwear especially because it always feels weird on me lol

I don't wear long underwear. I do, however, wear flannel long sleeved to the floor nightgowns.

I'm too hot natured and it doesn't get very cold in Arkansas. It's supposed to get up to 79 today and 80 Friday so no worries here.

I'm not sure how much of a need I'll have for it this winter, but last winter I was delivering car parts in the suburbs of Chicago and it was quite cold. I like the "old school" henley waffles, and I had some super awesome fleece leggings. I loved those so much because I could feel that it was cold out, but I didn't feel cold at all. I also like some of the silk long underwear that my mom has gotten me. She waits til everything's on sale and buys a whole bunch of it in all the fun colors and prints that nobody else wants because she doesn't care, it's all going under clothing anyway, lol.

I wear the old-school waffle-style the most, I love the newer styles and it would be great to find some spandex.

I wear tights/body stockings as long undies. It gets really cold where I live but never have bought them. It would have been nice when it was -40F out this last winter.

Waffles!

I don't wear long underwear outside. Layering on so much clothing feels awfully uncomfortable to me.

Maybe a little bulky, but long underwear still beats being too cold to use your hands! Today I had on polypropylene tops and bottoms next to my skin, knee-high wool socks, Dickies, a poplin workshirt (habit?), wool bib suspenders, a 3/8" thick wool flannel, and my weather shell. Plus wool gloves under my rubber gloves, a handkerchief, hat, and hood. And I was *still* glad to come back inside!

I live in the South now but even when I lived up north I didn't wear long underwear.

Gezz, I live north of 60, and I don't wear long underwear. It gets to be about -75c here in the deep winter.

I guess I'm just used to it.

I have to wear some just about every winter. I get stuck working out side in the middle of winter, and inside in the middle of summer. Not sure who that always works out, but it does. So long underwear go on when its freezing outside.

I have never worn long underwear. It doesn't get too cold where I live, at worst 10 degrees, but usually it stays from the thirties to fifties fahrenheit. Anyway, I don't really get cold, but burn up real easily. I tend to wear shorts and a sweatshirt for most of the winter.
