I had all mine removed a few years ago. Actually, it wasn't that bad other than trying to control the bleeding afterwards.

I had all four of mine removed back when I was 18. They weren't doing any damage where they were (at the time, at least), but I was going to have major reconstructive surgery on my jaw anyway (per my orthodonist, and for digestive reasons), so all my doctor decided it would just be better to get it all done at once.

While I still had my jaws wired shut for months, lost about 30-40 pounds from not being able to consume anything other than gatorade, ensure, or blender-burgers, and was in a lot of pain (not to mention discovering that I was allergic to percocet), I consider it a blessing. They told me the swelling would've been worse had I only had the teeth pulled, and I most likely wouldn't have been able to get the "good drugs" (general anesthetic and morphine) for such a minor procedure.

I get to keep mine I had my 4 last molars pulled with I was pretty young so I had loads of room for my wisdom teeth to come in. They came in straight too although the were angled towards my other teeth under my gums in an X-ray long time ago... I heard that pulling the molars to leave room for the wisdom teeth is a european thing. Made sense to me, my dentist was european. Anyone else know if this is true?

My baby sister is about to have the same thing done to her. Poor kid is going to have a pretty bad time getting her teeth all fixed up. Her mother had a fever in her first trimester that apparently messed up tooth development. She's almost 11 and her teeth are coming in rotten...I feel so bad for her.

I have all four of mine. The dentist wanted to pull all of mine out for no reason. I told him hell no. We will pull them if they start causing problems.

I had mine out when I was a teen.

Oh that is awful especially the price. I am going to have to have all 4 of mine removed as well. They are impacted and they are up against other teeth. I go to the dentist in a few days to talk about it
I hope yours gets done quickly and as painlessly as possible.

I had all four of mine removed when I was 17. It honestly wasn't as bad as I expected. I had to stay in bed for about 4-5 days & the worst part was the boredom. I couldn't get up because moving around made my mouth start bleeding again, but the pain wasn't anything like what I thought it'd be.

I got mine done last year. I went under of course. I had to get them out cause they were coming in sideways. I wasn't puffy like i see most people get, which i was suprised about! But i basically ate ice cream for the whole week and ate super slow. I think i lost weight that week too lol.
