I take care to look after my nails, but I won't get them professionally done. I can do just as good a job for free!
They are always filed - I'm anal about rough nail edges. I won't leave them alone until they are filed smooth.
It also pisses me off when one or two nails are a lot shorter than the rest if the nail split or tore off for whatever reason.

I don't really pay attention to mine. I paint them about 3 times a year and hardly ever remove the chipped polish with nail remover. I just let the paint fade away naturally by doing my every day activities.

I used to get my nails done professionally every week, but I developed an allergy to the acrylic. Now I just do a manicure myself about once a week if I can find the time.

I try to keep them clean and trimmed and painted. I have a lot of nail polish so I try to paint my nails once a week or so. I won't be running out anytime soon, lol. It lets me get creative and save a bunch of money not having them professionally done all the time.

I'm fortunate to have inherited nice nails from my grandmother. I like mine to be a medium length, and I keep them filed, clean and in good shape, and paint them occasionally. I've gotten professional manis and pedis, but I think they look a lot better when I do them at home.

I don't spend much time on them. I just let them grow until they're long enough to get in the way and start breaking on me, then I file them down and repeat the process. I love having them painted, but I tend to get lazy.

I used to get gel nails done, but now that I'm in school I can't afford it. I bite my nails, so they're really short. I don't bother painting them, since they don't look nice anyways.

I will occasionally go out and get them done, but only for very special occasions like a wedding or a family gathering. I always regret it, too.

I keep them smooth, clean, and generally painted. I've been on a nail polish kick these past few months - I've gotten like 16 bottles in 5 months. I'm not allowed to buy any more polish (for myself), sadly... But we'll see how that actually works out, lol.

dirt under the nails used to REAAAALLLY bother me..but now i'm pretty lazy, but if i notice it i'll do something about it. after a while i'll trim them too.
