I've never worked in one, but my husband used to work in what I called the Jack Shack. It was one of those slightly creepy stores that had rooms in the back and "models" who would do toy shows for the guys that came in. Nasty nasty place, thank gawd the owner got busted for all kinds of drug selling and what not, the nasty place was closed down but long after hubby quit. I've been to a lot of nicer stores that had viewing booths in the back to preview the movies. Never went back there as I was looking at toys every time, but I imagine it's probably dimly lit back there.

I'm beginning to realize that I want to work in an adult/sex store. I had one friend who worked in one in Canada! It was sketchy, she had a metal baseball bat behind the counter where a plexi-glass window was. She LOVED working there. Even saved up enough money to go backpacking through Japan.
I'm 24 and where I live I doubt there's any really nice up-scale store to work at. Except one, and that's Tantus. They're right here in my city, tiny city that it is. And I want to work there sooo terribly bad. But, I live at home due to the economy and my family.. well my mother would think it wonderfully fun and brilliant to work there. my father would question it cause I'm his little girl. it's my sister and brother in law who would sit there all judgmental and questioning.
I think I may apply no matter what...

Nope. Never have worked in an adult store. It's pretty straight and narrow here, so no stores like that unless you drive way out into the country.

I have never worked in one, but I would definitely not be opposed to it. The only ones here in my area are the "back room" types where you feel like you need a shower after you go in them. If I had the opportunity to work in a higher end one, I would try it out.
