Hello, I'm new. Can you help?

Contributor: dizzygirl dizzygirl
Hi everyone. I am new here... and I am new to the world of sex toys. I eventually want to get involved in reviewing. I think I could be good at it but I'd like to hang out a bit and learn the ropes around here before I do.

I have a question and I couldn't find a Forum Category to post it in. Maybe I'm missing where I'm supposed to post this and maybe my question has been answered already but I can't find it. I looked, I swear.

I don't think I got credited the 15 points for publishing my public profile. I looked at my earning history and I don't see it anywhere. Who can I contact about it?

Well, I'm glad to be here and appreciate your help.

Hey, thanks for the welcome. The points that I acquired yesterday are listed in the earning history and yesterday is when I joined EF and published my profile and all that. So I expected it to be there in the list with all the other activities I got credited for.

Oh well, I'll just wait and see if it shows up.

Thanks.

I think this is a great category to say you're new and could use a little help!

Did you publish your profile today or yesterday? If it was today, it will show up in your points that you've accumulated for today. Go to your little name on the upper left side of the screen and click on it. Go to your Account Dashboard. Once there, on the left hand side of the screen are several different links. You want to click on the EdenPoints Program link. It will bring you to a page that shows all the actions you can get points for and also shows what you've earned. If you published your public profile today, then you'll be able to view your history tomorrow and see if the points were given. There's a little link in pink that says "Earning History". Clicking on that will show you each action preformed on the day you chose, and the points awarded for it.

As far as the forum categories, do your best to choose the one you think fits your topic most. You are new here...so allow us all to welcome you and do our part to show you around!

If you need any further help, don't hesitate in sending me a message! I would be happy to help you!

What is showing up for activities that you preformed yesterday? There are often a few pages depending on how much you did around the site. Could it have been on a second page?

Hi. I am glad to be here. Thanks for offering help.

I thought for sure I published my profile yesterday and it's not showing up under yesterday's earnings history.

Maybe I'm confused. Maybe I didn't really publish it until today? I don't know. I'll see what comes up tomorrow.

This is what shows up for my activity yesterday:

4:14PM You made a post in a discussion +5
4:13PM You voted in a poll +1
4:09PM You made a post in a discussion +5
4:01PM You voted in a poll +1
3:58PM You made a post in a discussion +5
3:52PM You made a post in a discussion +5
3:45PM You voted in a poll +1
3:44PM You made a post in a discussion +5
3:11PM You activated review program +20
3:00PM You verified your email +50
2:56PM You logged in +2
2:56PM You opened new account +50

It's probably not a long list of activity because I just joined and I'm trying to find my way around and stuff but...

Yesterday is when I chose an avatar and added a little personal info to my profile so I think it got published yesterday. Weird.

Sometimes it does take 24 hours to get the official publish on making a public account. If you do have any problems, message JR at this link link ...he can help work it out.

Welcome to Eden!! I love seeing and meeting the new members--you can message me at any time if you have questions. I am usually on here and love to help out!

Yeah, I'll wait a day and take another look. I know, worrying about 15 points must seem petty. I'm mostly just trying to learn how everything works here so I don't know if the points didn't get credited because of a glitch or if it was something I did wrong.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to EF! If it doesn't show up by tomorrow I'd send a support ticket to make sure your profile was published. I know how you feel being new here, I joined last summer and was pretty inexperienced with toys. Just go at your own pace, read reviews that interest you, and look for a good mentor. They'll help you get the hang of writing reviews and in a while you'll gain more confidence as a reviewer. Good luck!

another suggestion that can be helpful, read lots of reviews to learn about the toys. you can also get an understanding of really great reviews & hopefully how to write them. I spent about 2 months reading everything I could before getting a mentor and writing a review. and, I was new to the world of toys too. good luck & have fun.

Just wanted to follow up and say that I submitted a ticket and EF took care of it... no problem. So that's cool.

I'm still settling in here. There's so many features to get the hang of but I'm getting there.

Everyone has been very welcoming and I appreciate that.

I have written two reviews. I thought I'd hold off awhile but I had the ideas swirling in my head and figured, what the hell. Can't learn to swim if ya don't get wet.

I go back and reread them and pick them apart but generally I like how they turned out. I feel my style is a little dry maybe but with practice I might inject more personality into the reviews.

So, check out my first two reviews ever and tell me what ya think. I tend to be long winded so...just warning ya.
