Why are you on the Computer?

Contributor: Dragon Dragon
After spending hours on Eden on a Friday night... I started to wonder why other people might be on the computer as much as I am.

I'm usually on the computer to-
1. Work on my thesis.
2. Make classroom materials.
3. Catch up on personal financial and bills

But I love staying in touch on Eden. I have had a blog for several years, but my husband reads it. That's not a problem now, but it was in the past. It's a different environment somtimes. I've met some friends here and I like the interactions.

I just woke up, so I had to check all of my e-mails (for my two jobs and my 6 classes, oi), check my favorite forum, and basically putz while I drink coffee. After lunch, I have to do a lot of homework.

I'm usually procrastinating when I'm on my computer. Lately most of my time has been spent on Eden browsing toys (though I'm sure I've seen most of them) and reviews, reading the forum, and whatnot. I use Stumble Upon too, usually when I'm bored. Also, for some of my classes I have to find clinical studies/trials online, make powerpoints, write papers, etc.

LOL. My husband informed me this morning that he doesn't think it's good for me to be on my computer all the time! I was on today before 8am!

I get online 4 times a day to check my email. During that time I quickly bounce into the forums I follow.

Most of the day, my notebook is on, sitting on my coffee table. So if I notice a new email or something, I'm easily distracted. If I'm just watching tv, I usually am poking around online as well.

We live in literally the back end of nowhere my Husband works on a First Nations Reserve in the lower arctic. So we work and then we come home, the internet is how we keep in touch with the outside world and also our entertainment (well the entertainment outside of our play ). I write a blog and short stories and Master reads the news online as there are no papers up here.

I spend 70% of my work hours on the computer - research, reports, spreadsheets, etc. When I get home, it's for geekdom!

I use a laptop for work then as soon as I get off (or earlier if I can sneak out of the *home office) I check emails, check the forums, and check new reviews. Oh yeah, sometimes I read our "newsless" newpaper on line.
If I get up early enough, I make a run through all the above in the mornings too.
I'm sitting here on a Saturday night reading old forums...go figure!! LOL

Me? Huh. I guess I'm sorta addicted too. I like reviewing toys and reading sex blogs, so that fills up most of my time on the internet. Plus all of my other random stuff, and you have me on the internet for hours at a time.
