If you found out a local politician was a reviewer here, would you be more likely to support them, less likely, or unchanged?

I've been wondering when online accounts will become part of opposition research in campaigns. I have a feeling it's one thing to make a sexist meme, another to be a reviewer of sex toys (think of the children :O) but what do you think?

It wouldn't change my opinion of them much as a politician. Be good knowing they weren't overly conservative, but I vote based on policy and views.

I could hardly hold it against them. I'm on here, too. But my opinion wouldn't become more favourable because of it.

I think my opinion would be unchanged.

It would depend upon how well he wrote his reviews and how intelligent he/she seemed.

I'd say unchanged. However, if their reviews and posts revealed more of their true character/personality beyond what's seen in the eye of the media, that could possibly change my view one way or the other.

I think it'd be really weird to find out that they reviewed here, mostly because many reviewers keep it a secret. I think it's good for people to have personal lives, even politicians. But if we found out that they were a reviewer, they're not keeping personal life personal and private, and I don't like that.

Hey, I'd be cool with it. Orgasms relieve stress. Being a politician is extremely stressful. I'd be inclined to believe they were a little more level headed and up to date on what's going on in the world and I would hope their participation at Eden gave them a look at the bigger picture since we talk about more than just sex around here.

I don't understand why it is that people think they have the right to judge a person based on what goes on in their bedroom. If we all allowed ourselves the freedom to do the things we truly want when it comes to sex, I'd bet the farm that most people would find themselves to be far more "depraved", "perverted" and "deviant" than they'd ever admit to anyone.

It really depends on his/her views, but I assume they'd be more sex-positive which is great in my book.

I would certainly try not to change my opinion based on someones feelings towards sex toys

Politicians have sex lives too, so I'm sure that at least one politician at least buys sex toys here. It wouldn't change my opinion of them; I base my opinions of them based on what their ideas and plans for their town/ city/ country etc are.

Being here in it of itself would not change my opinion (unless being here would make them hypocritical as would be true of many ultra-conservative types) but something they write here may however.

I would be mildly more likely to vote for them if I knew they were on Eden (hooray for a politician finally not being hypocritically quiet about their sexuality!) ---but if I found their politics didn't mesh with mine, just the fact that they were on Eden wouldn't make me ignore the issues and vote for them no matter what.

I don't think it would affect my decision at all.

Well... I'M ON HERE, so I wouldn't think that it's awful if a politician was on here. It might be bad if he/she was spending TOO MUCH time on here. That would mean they may or may not be doing their job correctly. So if anything, the amount of time would be a factor. But aside from that, I don't care!

Honestly, as long as it's not hurting anyone, I don't much care what politicians do in their downtime. I care about what they get done on the job.

This.

I couldn't give a rat's what politicians do if they do their jobs well.

The exception is when their personal conduct goes against the policies, ie when social conservatives who make their living off of telling other people how to live their lives get caught blowing coke with hookers or some such thing lol. That just.. bothers me

It depends on the politicians reaction to being outed. If they were honest about it I'd definitely respect that and may be more likely to vote for them. If they dodged it or did the old dance-around then I would likely never vote for them.

I don't get into politics, but I'd want them to be honest about it if they were outed for their activity.

I would most certainly NOT change my opinion after finding out what they did in their free-time. That's their business! We're all on here. Does that mean we're less suitable to serve in a position because of "the children"? Nonsense! We're adults! We're free to do as we please and what we do behind our closed doors is OUR business! Judging a president (and presidential candidate) would be even dumber than when everyone got into a fit because Clinton cheated on his wife (as if other presidents didn't).

When I pick a candidate it is for their views on national and foreign policy, not what kind of vibrator they prefer. I would be interested in reading their reviews however...
