What does society think about webcam modeling? Do you guys think it's a suitable "job" for a male/female?

I am also a webcam model and I love my job. It is much much safer than other varieties of sex work, it pays well and allows me to be home with my kids and go to school. I've never had issues with members stealing my content but I do know girls that have and after you've been in the industry a while you learn how to deal with that situation. There is even a company you can pay (this is a great option for the very popular girls) that monitors the internet for places your content may have been placed without your permission.

Often it isn't even about the sex. I regularly have men just want to sit and talk to me. Many men who visit cam sites just want companionship and they may not be sure how to handle a woman in real life. Lots of cam girls learn quickly how to be kind and accepting and sort of ease men into the whole thing. I think it is a great outlet for men and a great way for women to engage in a sexually liberating career that gives them freedom to plan their job around their lives instead of the other way around.

I think it's totally okay! If I were in a different place in my life I would almost consider it

The only thing I worry about is the amount of money being made....I know some cammers make a ton, but most don't (which is sad because I know most work hard and put up with a lot of shit!)

I am a web cam model! I love it, I make my own schedule. I get to spend time with my kids, and go to school.

I don't know what society in general thinks about it, but in my opinion if you can make a nice income from it and enjoy it, go for it!

When a person finds something that they love to do that also earns them an income, that's ideal. A lot of us have shitty jobs that we hate, and I think that's one of the reasons that we rag on people in the sex industry. We can't stand the thought that some people out there really love their jobs and get paid to do something fun all day!

I've been in the adult entertainment industry since July of 2011 and it just keeps getting better.

Sure, there are a lot of risks to consider but ultimately, a job is a job.

Stormy already touched on some of my thoughts about this, with regard to considering the possible future results of doing any kind of sex work. If you think you might ever want to work in a career in which you'll be shunned or denied for having done this, that would be a major consideration. Another thing to keep in mind, though, that I think many don't think of beforehand, is that any experiences you have in this line of work--both good and bad--will remain in your memory. If you run into a client who insults you or makes you feel "icky", that will stay with you.

Just some things to be aware of, that I wish someone had warned me about, back in the day. I hope someday our society will support and admire women (and men) who are able to do these kinds of work.
