You left off 'other' If I DID use prostitutes, I doubt I'd use them to cuddle, but I think a lot of people are using them for companionship, not just sex, and that's a part of it. If I used a prostitute, it would probably be to try out new weird freaky stuff when I didn't have a partner to try it with.

I've been a sex worker and it happens more than you'd expect. Guys really want to be listened to and adored without all the nagging and fighting and responsibility that comes with it. The guys who just wanted to talk or lightly touch loved to fall asleep with me in their arms. It was almost sweet, but mostly just really sad.

The only time I paid a prostitute would be for nothing. I would never use a prostitute. I think it's downgrading yourself and I would rather rescue her and get her another job any day. I might buy her and set her free, especially if she was held against her will.

Not all sex workers want to be "set free" Sarah. While human trafficking is a serious problem there are a large number of women who do choose to engage in sex work and their needs are different and complex.

I won't get into legalization vs decriminiztion cause that would be a whole other thread.

I would probably never pay for sexual services because I can get them easily for free but I'd be much more likely to pay for cuddling then sex. I can give myself orgasms but not a good cuddle.

If I paid to have sex with a prostitute I would probably be fulfilling a sexual fantasy. Since my fantasies are dark, twisted and probably illegal in most places I doubt I will ever decide to use the services of a sex worker. Now if one of the guys was wanting to contract a sex worker then it would more than likely be for straight up sex, probably some oral and cost way more than $100! My actual tame fantasies involve having sex with at least two guys, which I don't need to pay for, beyond the wages of sin
On the whole I have no problem with anyone selling their services so long as they are clean and healthy...hell I demand the same thing from anyone selling me something in a store!

I can imagine it is rather touchingly sad. Still I have had playmates of Sigel tell me that sometimes when I am out of town he will come over just for that special little attention rather than full on sex. I have to agree both with CleverKitty and Victoria. I stopped reading the article early on but I'm surprised by the tone of the thread.

Sex work has been a trade for as long as we have written history. Not all women and men in the sex trade are there because they have nothing else. Not all are there because they are forced to be. While it's admirable that you would want to help an 'unfortunate' woman, and I support your desire to do so, it is important that you realize that there are some highly intelligent business men and women who trade their sexual skills for profit, quite happily.

Would I make use of a person's offer if I could see they are desperate, no ofcourse not! What I won't do is perpetuate the myth that all prostitutes and other sex workers are being sold, held captive or sleezy. In the end you get what you pay for, I guess you could say.

I, too have never paid for sexual services because I have no lack of partners or lack of people willing to play with my fantasies, but Sigel has! I met the sex worker whom he paid and she is actually a very good friend of ours. She offers a service and he has made use of it. She pays me for the crafts I make her...I see no difference.

Ahhhh.... this thread was just - unexpected.

I have used prostitutes. For a long time. Won't go into the details, but no, it's not because I can't get laid, am totally unattractive, or have a mental problem.

So - would I pay a prostitute for a cuddle? No. But I would (and have) paid a prostitute for what I would describe as "non-sexual intimacy", meaning talk, cuddle, kissing and companionship.

This is the second time I am amazed by the close-minded opinions of readers of what I consider to be a sex-positive, open-minded forum. Intimacy is more than just the act of fucking, and sometimes, we humans have a need for intimacy, even if it is paid; and if that is what is available to you, it is just what you need, and is not criminal (I live in Australia, where sex work is decriminalised and regulated), why should we have a problem with that?

The biggest issue men would face with this idea is that of value for money - Is my need for non-sexual intimacy worth $100 or more? For most men the answer will be NO; and *that* is the real reason we won't pay $100 for a cuddle.

The only thing I'd pay a prostitute to do is NOT touch me! Lol. I thought that post was very... what's the word? Sad, in a way? At first when it said something along the lines of "They had anything you could want." After talking about them having all different sizes and such.
