In media and in general, do you think non-sexual nudity should be shown more? Why or why not?

I don't think it should be in the media for the young kids sake. I know this is very controversial in general. In art I thoroughly enjoy it.

As little as possible, since there is enough available for people who want to go looking. If it's something on TV, it'd be a bit too easy for a child to stumble across.

I think it should be anywhere, the op specifies "non-sexual" so it wont show penetration or anything so I think there's no problem if a kid stumbled across it. I think if nudity was more accessible in our media our society would be much less ashamed of our bodies. The naked body is nothing to hide, everyone has one.

I would agree with you, Bex.

One thing though, with as sensational as the American public is, I think there are a LOT of people who can't see any nudity as "non-sexual".

There's a woman who lives nearby, a delightful Swede, who, if you catch her at the right time in the morning, will probably answer the door topless. She's not an exhibitionist or anything. This is normal behaviour in Sweden (or so she tells me). There are some people, of course, who disapprove, and some - mostly kids - who knock on her door just to get a gander full, but on the whole we're not that bothered. So I think exposure to nudity can be a good thing.

As an aside, I'd like to visit Sweden. It has nice, natural hills ...

Sure. I get annoyed when I'm reading or watching something and nudity is a part of the plot but they feel the need to put a potted plant or something like that in front of it. It gets ridiculous. I think there should at least be more bare breasts in the media, considering all the stupid hoop-la about how "indecent" breastfeeding is.

At the very least, bare breasts should be allowed to be shown. I don't think it's the least bit fair that men are allowed to walk around topless yet women aren't.

And why does everyone worry so much that kids might see it? Seriously, nudity isn't going to traumatize them. I imagine most little kids have at least seen their parents or older siblings (or, y'know, themselves) nude at one time or another, so what's the fuss?

Nothing wrong with non-sexual nudity, I walk naked from the bathroom after a shower to my bedroom all the time I don't act ashamed, in front of my kids. my toddler and I shower together all the time he's so used to it he doesn't even notice. For my 7 year old I am more careful just cause I'm sure he doesn't want to see his mom naked , which I understand from experience. It would not bother me to see non-sexual nudity on TV.
