to be honest, if someone stole my sex toys they can just keep the damn things. No amt of sterilization would warrent me touching them again.

Maybe I just take sex toys a little too seriously, but I didn't really think it was that funny. There are people on this site who only buy "luxury" toys and I used to think that $130 was a ridiculous amount to spend on a sex toy, but now I'm saving up to get a G4 Tiger and a Tiani 2! It makes sense that Lelo would offer incredibly expensive toys in that case, because if Lelo is top of the line for most middle/upper class people, what kind of 'top of the line' toys are left for extremely rich people? I suppose they need something to waste money on, too. Maybe it's a small clientele, but someone has to cater to it.

Likewise, I could see how someone would steal a sex toy that was worth over $2,000. Heck, it'd be tempting even for me! Maybe they weren't even stealing it to sell it or 'scrap the gold' off of it, but just for the sake of having it because they could never afford something like that otherwise.

I think the GPS tracking is interesting... I assume the toy would come with some sort of unique identifier that would allow you to search for the GPS inside. I think it's trustworthy, but honestly, people stealing my sex toys isn't a huge concern of mine, so I'm not too worried about.

If anything has a percieved social value, someone will steal it. (when a retailer slaps a price tag on a toy that is the percieved social value-the actual value from the bling on the toy is a small fraction).

So meh to the article but putting gps in the store samples is probably a wise move.

The idea of it is kind of funny. But why would a sex toy shop have such an expensive toy in the store in the first place? Do they really sell enough of them to make up for the risk of it being stolen?
