I know this has been a hot topics here on the forums, having sex with robots, but now there is a company on the job. True Companion from NJ has been working on interactive love dolls. The current ones are about the same price as real dolls, and look pretty similar, but this could be the first step in designing real sex robots.

I am sure very few people would ever pay $7,000 for any kind of sex toy... but price aside, would you have sex with one these true companions? (They have both male and female models)

Not going to lie... this horrifies me. And not only because of my crazy fear of robots.

Masturbation with toys is one thing; it's personal, it's something different from sex. These robots are taking the relationship aspect of sex with another person and mocking it. Degrading it, really.

Just another step in technology contributing to the destruction of interpersonal relationships.

Heh. This actually remind me a bit of the anime Chobits, except in the anime the dolls were "persocoms", personal computers for recreational and business use as opposed to being purely for sex purposes (although it was hinted at). I would be interested in seeing where this technology goes. As it stands right now, Roxxxy creeps me out. But in ten or fifteen years, I can see this evolving into a much smoother, even mainstream product.

As for how it would affect interpersonal relationships... I don't think these dolls would destroy anything that wasn't already cracked or broken. Even if it were the most intelligent, attractive robot ever made, just about on par with a real human being, if I KNOW that it's not a real human being, I can't make a connection to it. If I want to converse with a person who thinks independently of logarithms or have meaningful sex, I certainly wouldn't turn to a machine for it.

What the heck is it made of? Some kind of silicone but I'm wondering about chemical additives. Call me crazy I'm into eco-sex.

Not only do you pay thousands but you have to buy their "subscription" service. Does it stop working if you stop paying?

That's actually... wow. That's creepy. All they need to do now is to make a movie about it and I'll have enough nightmare fodder for the next five years.

Wasn't there something like a movie or an eccentric rich guy that paid real women to wear robot/android suits as some live-in fantasy?

It's really funny that this was posted, my boyfriend and I have a running joke that he can't replace me until they invent sex robots. I guess I'm gonna have to start working harder in the bedroom if they actually have invented them!

I would try it out,but that 7000 dollar price tag is rather steep.

I already have sexy time with toys so why not with a larger one? Then again it would depend on what the toy is made out of and how much closet space I have. Hauling 170+ pounds of dead weight doesn't sound like fun =(
