...I was just reading about this on AVN. Apparently they (Vivid Entertainment) are willing to save her home if she signs a movie contract.

This whole thing kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But she would have to be crazy to pass up an opportunity to save her house... wouldn't she? What do you think?

I don't know, it would be wrong to me if they were going to take her house away if she didn't sign with them. However, the bank is taking the house away, Vivid is just offering her a way to save it. Without Vivid's offer it seems she would loose her house for sure. Their not holding her house ransom, just giver her a way to save it.

It's kind of disgusting, in my opinion, for a company to try to take advantage of a poor/desperate person like that.

If she wanted to be a sex worker, that would be one thing, because there is nothing wrong with that choice for a line of work. But to know that she's got several children and that she's struggling to keep her house and dangle this offer in front of her is sick. The company is only willing to 'save' her from foreclosure because they know that there is a huge market of people who will buy the video and the amount they'd pay to help her keep her house wouldn't be a drop in the bucket in comparison.

Her behaviour is kind of disgusting anyway. It's not like the entire world couldn't see something like this coming. They're kind of a match made in heaven, if you ask me.

The only downside is that I am so SICK of seeing these broodmares (Octomom, Kate, Duggar, etc) clogging up my news and websites. I really don't want to have to see them in my porn too.

While I don't think a ridiculously high child-count is a good choice, if you're going to do it, fine, that's your right as a human. You just had better be able to pay for them yourself AND I would like to point out they're CHILDREN.. you know, those things you're supposed to raise, not take advantage of for your own publicity.

I think this is the same crap that the term "motherfucker" sprang from -- GI's in WW2 who would take advantage of starving mothers trying to feed their children.

I'm no fan of Octomom but that's still a crummy offer to make.

That should be illegal. It's basically prostitution and coercion in my opinion. She is in a desperate situation and it sounds like they are taking advantage of that. I find it sad . And I totally agree with CockQawker.

You'd think they could at least make the offer quietly enough that it wasn't in the news for people to discuss. Now if she loses the house, she'll have strangers judging her for not taking the deal. Maybe she put herself in the public eye, but that's not for me to judge, and I feel like this whole thing is just tacky.

I have been thinking...

Porn is not illegal, and offering to pay someone to do porn is not illegal. However prostitution is illegal (mostly), and propositioning someone to have sex for money is illegal. So it looks like that is a debate all on it's own.

I will admit that I am not well read on all things Octomom, but from what I do know, I am not really a fan. Yes she did have an offer to do porn right away, and Vivide Entertainment has nothing to do with any aspect of her problems and owes her nothing. So really, they are not the bad guy here (although it does feel kind of sleezy). Octomom, her life, and her decisions are her completely her responsibility.

Of course Octomom does not have to do porn. But, if it is the only way to save her home I think she should do it. How many people on the planet would shoot porn for a few days in exchange for a house?

I agree with that sentiment.

As for Vivid making the offer, it irritates me for another reason entirely. It's not because they made it, but because they made it to her. There are plenty of talented women out there who have been working in the porn industry for years and would love to have a Vivid contract. All this woman did was spew out more kids than she could afford. Personally, I wouldn't be interested in watching any movie she was in because I don't think she deserves any more attention than she's already gotten.

I so agree!! I don't see how she would have anything to add to the adult industry other then curiosity and who is that curious?

Her name and high profile would make people buy them, at least enough to make a fast profit. One thing that does happen, when someone non-porn comes out with a movie, people who do not normally buy porn will pick it up. Maybe that is the whole point, cross over marketing. If she did a porn, it would definitely get mentioned on major news programs. Actually Octomom was on the view not that long ago.
