I met my ex-husband on hotornot.com.... BAD idea.. lol

I was recently on match.com and met a few guys worth meeting in person, just no real connection. I'm still friends with 1 of them.

I'm not completely against online dating it just didn't work for me!

I never have, but my dad and stepmom met this way and they have been happy for over a decade. My mom has had much less success. I don't know many people my age who have actually done this.

I haven't, but I know people that have.

Yes, some people have horror stories of it going really badly -- but then, I have horror stories with men that I've met through everyday encounters at grocery stores, clubs, through friends, etc. I met my ex through a friend and it was by far the worst relationship I ever had.

I know some people who have had great success with online dating sites though. Even know one woman who sent an email to a man on a dating sight simply with "hello from the United States", man replied "Hello from England". Months after, they met. Two years after, they got married. 10 years after, they are happily living in the US together, with three children.

I don't think that the fact that two people met online makes them any more or less likely to have a successful relationship.

Was married LONG before those came along. Do know some folks who DID find their true loves on them, however. Happy endings for THREE couples we know.

I haven't had to use such sites yet, mostly because I'm happy enough when I'm not in a relationship to find love the typical way.

I tried it, never found anyone except new friends, and ended up finding someone on a site not even meant for dating.

I never in a million years thought I would use a dating site but I was sick of being single so I figured I'd try OkCupid. In a week I met an amazing guy and we just had a date yesterday and things are pretty damn great.

Not "dating" sites, but there's a cam site that i hit sometimes. Some of the girls I've met there, brought over here and they post (here) regularly.

I've joined SexSearch.com, eHarmony.com, Match.com, and Chemistry.com and been a paid subscriber. I got the most success out of eHarmony though I never actually got to the meetup in person phase with any of them as communication would usually stop somewhere before then. Paid online dating sites are a scam. They should have a guarantee attached to them so I'm not spending hundreds of dollars a year for girls to blow me off when things get to serious for them and by serious I mean a single date. I always thought that's why you joined sites like that, to meet people.... though it seems everyone is on there just to waste your money and their own.

I am a little bitter...

Yes, I've used a few. I'm a femme lesbian and I'm attracted to other femmes, so outside of bars it's difficult to meet women who meet my criteria otherwise.

Yes, and other? I used a dating site and found somebody who was a fun fuckbuddy for a while, but it ended on a pretty bad note. STD scare and him being pissed at me for not wanting to stay friends after I got back together with my ex.

I've never actively searched for a romantic partner in any sense. I always felt more comfortable just seeing where my everyday relationships ended up.
