Agree with this explanation.

Although I love both! Geeky boys are so adorable. When I first started dating my boyfriend he was really into WoW. He's since stopped playing but I kinda miss it. I enjoyed watching him haha

Haha...nerds/geeks. Oh, yes. I know about them.

A few years ago, a friend kept dating rather coarse, tough guys and kept getting in bad situations. I told her she needed to try dating a guy who was a bit of a nerd. After a divorce, guess who she settled down with?

But I recall when nerds and geeks weren't so cool. It wasn't so long ago!
The image of these people has changed a bit. I suppose it had to do with Bill Gates and people kind of like that--with the way the world is changing, these people are now influential and wealthy! But now a lot of people call themselves nerds, geeks. It's OK now. The increase of technology in our daily lives makes these things once considered nerdy more accessible.

Nearly all of my friends and my significant other (and me) are a combination of nerds/geeks. Most of my friends are book smart, and into a combination of the following--Science in general, programming, anime, manga, fantasy and science fiction, video games. A few are a little socially awkward. Maybe it's also noteworthy--most of them like cats. A lot.

I find my friends very cute.

And there is something about a man who does it with glasses on.

Sort of related to a previous comment--I think it is interesting that Nintendo gamers are now considered casual, and things like MMORPGs and first person shooters are "hardcore". True, Nintendo opens their doors to all sorts from seasoned gamer to my mom. But the people I know that are really into their games tend to not care much for MMORPGs, shooters and pretty much gravitate towards less realistic, Japanese games. Gaming is a part of their lives. They insert lame 8 bit game jokes into random conversations.

I don't know about geeks, but I always call my husband a dork. Not in a mean way though. He likes gaming and airplane models, but he's definitely not overly "geeky". He still played high school football and track and all that, so he was kind of a mix.

Me dos. I'm a nerd with only a smidgen of zelda-geek in me so I like a geek to complete me. Geeks are my bread and butter! They're just as weird as me. :]

Self proclaimed geek here! There's something about geeks in general that have a total crazy personality and sense of humor that just makes everything more fun. Even though we all like gaming, geeks seem to really enjoy trying anything and everything. It brings a lot of spice and unpredictability!

I'm a non-traditional geek, as I'm a total literature/writing geek. I tend to go for intelligent guys, because I have found that they are just more interesting!

I'm a geek and a nerd through and through! All the men I've been around in my life are either nerds, geeks, or both! My current boyfriend is a mix of both, but he's definitely into the comics, video games, anime, manga, mmorpgs, and much more. Me, I love computers, knowledge, mmorpgs, anime, manga, roleplaying, history, steampunk, cyberpunk, Doctor Who, etc, etc. We're both proud of our geeky nerdy-ness! I even took my boyfriend to his very first anime convention this year too and he did so well!
