My relationship of a year and now 3 months has turned into a long distence relationship. I've never been in a long distence before and im not sure how to go about it. I live in florida he now lives in south carolina. I wont get to see hi again for many months and i was wondering how do i keep my relationship interesting? Any help from those thats been there or names of books that can help?

Talk a lot via phone, webcam, messengers, etc. Send packages to each other. Just keep in touch.
It can be hard at times, mine is going on 4 years long distance, with more years to go. All you can do is wait it out, make plans to visit each other, and keep in touch. If you want to keep it going, then do so. It just takes a lot of effort.

Goth is right, it takes a lot of effort. It also takes a lot of trust. I think nothing puts a relationship to the test like distance. Do things to build up your relationship, not just maintain the sex. With my ex we would have movie dates over the phone. Be creative.

I was in a long distance relationship for four years. Honestly, I think the best ways to keep it fun and fresh are webcams definitely, online games (Pogo has lots of free games you can play with people over the internet), watching movies together and just TALKING. I found that my long distance boyfriend and I had better communication than a lot of my friends in local relationships because we were forced to talk so much to keep in touch. Good luck to you, hon. I have only had one long distance relationship. I purchased a five subject spiral notebook with the inserts in between that had pockets. We would send it back and forth to each other after having written letters, questions, fantasies on the pages and put drawings, pictures, small treats that fit well in the pockets. It was a great memento for when we moved to the next step and lived together. (Which we never did but that had more to do with me refusing to move to where he was after careful consideration.)

Long Distance Relationships are heavily dependent on communication, trust and will. For keeping in touch with my boyfriend I text him everyday and we recently started using Skype to webcam. Trust is a BIG issue. Make sure you trust eachother to stay mutually exclusive despite the distance and the will to make it work. In most cases, not all, if you want it to work it will work. Make sure you plan visits and have some activities you two can do together while apart. I know a great community that is specifically for long distance relationships.

I'm in one, currently.
It's very difficult on the heart.
You can't do double dates.
Valentine's Day if you can't be with him sucks.
But like they said, do some things together.
He calls me sometimes after work, we play WoW together and sometimes XBOX live.

I was there last year. maybe at the beginning I felt the Love.. but as the time passed by..things got deferent.. you really have to work hard to keep it there till you will find a way to get together for ever - its a MUST
