Being a tattooed woman I think women with tattoos are cooler and at times sexier.. but I'm straight. So.. I'm weird.

I have no issue with any gender having tattoos.. I do however hate most tattoo art that I see on a day-to-day basis, regardless of gender.

I don't think there's any difference for the most part. BUT when my mom got a tattoo of a naked guy put on her leg it somehow seemed more ballsy to me than when guys get tatts of naked women.

I only have a tiny heart on my ankle but I'm planning on getting a couple of big dragonflies on my collar bones and i think that well thought out, well drawn and well executed tattoos look good.

I'm a tattooed woman... I have 10 tattoos in all, 5 on each hand. I plan on going up my arms and having entire sleeves. Usually I get mixed reactions, which I think are hilarious. One woman even told me that I don't look like the "type" to have tattoos -- wierd huh!

To me tats don't make a woman sexier or cooler. Like anything else, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I've come to the conclusion that it's somewhat generational. In my day sailors got tattoos. Then tattoos became a way to 'prove you were different' - 'more adventurous'. Now they are so common they prove the opposite - that your just like all the rest - its mainstream.

I see young people rejecting tattoos to be different - a 180 change from 10-15 years ago. Every generation seems to want to separate themselves from those before - just seems natural to swim against the tide.

Being younger, the only reasons I ever hear anyone say they do not want to get a tattoo is:

A. To be "professional". (Then they get them hidden anyway.)

B. Because their parents would be mad if they found out. (Half the time they get them hidden too.)

and C. Because tattoos and their beliefs dont correlate.

I think now more than ever, tattoos are a huge part of our modern culture.

I agree - tattoos have gone from being a badge or rebellion to a badge of belonging.

My daughter (20) says she'll never get one because she can't take the pain and she thinks they have a negative connotation. Her BF just got a couple, I expect that if she hasn't gotten one yet, she will.

My son (19) has yet to get a tattoo and neither have his friends as far as I know. I've concluded that he will as well - he just doesn't think that I'd tolerate it. It's not my thing, but I'm not going to disown him over it!

As Gunsmoke said, I think its generational. Neither my wife nor I like them, and we do not have any. Neither of us find them attractive at all. However, we are in our late 40's. It does appear that folks younger than us, both male and female, are more accepting of them.

I do not care for them when they are all over the body. Makes it look like trailer trash. But one or two tattoo's are ok.

In my profession and most creative professions being tattooed is a good thing.

I have a few tattoos, I believe its become more socially acceptable in society these days. Even having a job isn't as much of a problem now as it used to be.

i think some people look awesome with them, and some don't. but it's their body and everyone should do what makes them happy.

Most people I know have tattoos. I know I'm in the minority but... I prefer my women to be blank slates. Definitely not out to judge any women that do have tattoos, and it can be quite sexy in it's own way, but it interferes aesthetically with a couple of the kinks I have (bodypainting, corporal punishment - I leave a lot of marks) so I guess I'm just trained to like clean skin more.

It really, REALLY depends on the tattoos themselves. Good tattoos are always a turn on, no matter who they're on. Bad tattoos are always a turn off.

I also have 3 tattoos and the one on my ribcage (GOD THAT HURT!) is a fairly big one. I plan on getting many more. Also agree about being tasteful. There are soooo many tattoos out there I see and ask WHY? But to each their own and as long as it has meaning to you, which I believe is very important, that's all that matters. Just don't expect me to like all of them or think they're sexy

I am super attracted to women with tattoo's and piercings in moderation. Like the suicide girls. So attractive. Love it!
