I honestly thought it was totally normal to still have pictures of former lovers on one's computer. Not taking up the whole hard drive, and not in a shrine, but just where they're interspersed with other pictures (road trips, concerts, etc.) left where they were, put on your backup drive, and still there as a memento of a closed chapter of your life.

If a partner ever asked "Do you have any pictures of exes on your computer," I would have replied "Of course! Out of respect for my exes, I'd request that if you want to look at them, you only do it on my computer, with me there, and don't put them on the internet or anything."

I had honestly assumed that everybody just left digital photo albums as they are---but on another thread this morning, I found out I was the only one who wouldn't be pissed off if my partner had naked pictures.

So... am I totally way off normal here? Do you have old pictures on your computer? Or do you purge your files after a relationship?

I've deleted some pictures but keep a few select naked and/or clothed pictures as mementos.

I have a few. Maybe 10. I can't decide whether to delete them or not. They're separated out so I don't accidentally look at them. So it's not a "shrine," but more like purgatory or a virtual voodoo doll or something.

I have a few of my ex-husband and my former-Master. They never liked being photographed, so it's usually them in background shots of other things. And I've never done nude photography of them. And there isn't anything of my FWB's or others.

Yeah, part of my history (I mean, after nine years of marriage, that's history). Certainly nothing remarkable about their locations on my laptop. Although when I finally get my wedding album out of storage I'll likely torch it as a form of Final Sacrifice.

I don't, but he has a couple 'R' rated pics of exs. Just a couple of topless shots here and there. Nothing hardcore, though.

DELETE no point in living in the past and I wouldnt keep naked pics of an ex just makes you seem like your still living in a past relationship

I have never been allowed to take pictures of former lovers and my wife has only allowed one to be taken in our 23 years. That one was deleted soon after, it was just for fun and sent as a text message while I was at work.

If I had the pleasure I would probably delete them when I changed partners. I do not see any reason to keep them around, the pictures in my mide would be fine for me.

I have pictures of old lovers and friends (clothed). Sometimes they bring a smile and sometimes a tear. I had some pictures of an old lover from when he was a child that I kept for awhile, but when it was time to let go and move on, I mailed them to him. I know he was happy to receive them and it helped me to let go and move on from a very long and unpleasant relationship.

You're not the only person that wouldn't be pissed off if your partner had naked pictures on his/her computer. My husband has different photos/mementos from his past, and it's perfectly fine. I've been trying to figure out how (or if) I want to reply to that other thread, but I want you to know you're not off in left field by yourself.

Through various circumstances, I've lost a lot of the physical mementos (pictures and other items) of some different points in my life, and it'd mean a lot to me to have some of those reminders back. That doesn't have any bearing on the state of my current relationship. It's just a reminder of who I am and the path I took to get here.

i answered other because when i left the dating life there were no digital cameras. oy vey i'm old i guess. home computers were not a part of my life.. umm i can't even remember if there was anything other than the old comador 64 computers then. lol oh my i am old.

but i have never collected anything from past relationships

I have some pictures and videos from guys I have been involved with. Since I am in a LDR, it really hasn't been an issue, but I suppose if my SO was with me, I would probably need to make sure that everything was gone. He is not a really jealous person, but he can be a little insecure sometimes, and I wouldn't want to upset him like that.

Well, I guess you learn something new every day. Huh. I still don't think I'll delete mine... but I guess it's something to bring up at the beginning of a new relationship from here on out, to make sure a partner wouldn't be upset that I have them.

Mine are more naked shots of me with them on the side. It was a friend in a photagraphy class and she needed nude pictures of random people. But none of us in the act. As for my boyfriend I think he has pictures of every girl he has ever thought about doing anything with lol it doesnt bother me.
