I have recently been thinking of getting a small tattoo of my kids initials. I know there isn't a big chance we'll ever "break up"

Johnny Depp's 'Wino Forever' tattoo. Anyone remember the story behind it?

Partners can be fluid and temporary and if they are there all the time, you shouldn't need ink for that

I don't think I could. It feels like a jinx to me.

I got my husband's name tattooed on me once he was officially my husband. He's now no longer my husband though and my artist and I ware working on cover up ideas - it's just really great 'tattoo real estate' and I'm not willing to throw up just anything to cover it.

Sure go for it! I'm not superstitious about that sort of thing. If you are in to tats, why not? Personally, I could see myself wanting to get a tat of something symbolizing the relationship or anything important for that matter, i.e. your wedding date or your kids birth date. It's a nice marker for all the special events in your life.

The only people whose name you should have on you are family members! There's no way to tell that your relationship is going to last forever, but a tattoo totally will!

If you're getting something for someone, find something to symbolize them or something like that.

I had a wedding band tattoed with my childrens father. I was going to have it removed after we split. I had the laser process scheduled and he died 10 days before my appointment. I now wear it with pride because of the 2 wonderful children that he gave me.

I'm willing to get my partners name tattoed on me. I've always felt that even if we broke up I'd still love him in someway. (we've been together almost 8 years)He's the first guy i've never loved, the first guy I've slept with. He was my first at ANYTHING, and no matter what that will never change. We are getting matching tattoos, but not eachothers names. His is going to say "I love her" and mines is going to say "I love him".

The tattoo artist I know refer to it as the kiss of death to a relationship. Its kinda a jinx. Maybe because you only hear about the ones people regret.

I got it after we had been together for 6 years and was comfortable that we would be together permanently. The name is easily altered, however.

I'd never get my fiancee's name tattooed on me. I just don't like tattoos.

I'd get a tattoo for a partner if it was anything but their name. I'm getting my zodiac constellation on my side/back and adding my partners constellation later. Even if we broke up I wouldn't regret having a reminder of our time together.. just not their name.. makes it awkward for the next partner.

I went out with this kid for 2 months and the nut got my name on his whole forearm HUGE. One of the weirdest things about my story is that I broke up with the kid the day before! I told him not to do it but if someone wants something there going to get it.

if he wanted to do it i would be thrilled. he would never do it though. i've honestly really never seen one that didnt look trashy to me. but if he wanted to, i would certainly be touched.

I had an ex tell me he got a tattoo of a rising sun on the back of his neck for me . . . because of my name and all. To me, that's perfectly fine.

A friend of mine, however, got her boyfriend's name tattooed on her chest over her heart . . . while we were still in high-school. Luckily, they just celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary.

I recently got a strand of christmas lights around my ankle, and I had one bulb be left off; he wants to get a tiny bulb on his chest! This is as close as we'll get to names!

There's something declasse about it to me. Symbolism I'd like more than actual names.
