How long did you date before moving in with your current partner?

WELL!!! To ask such a question, only tells me that personal values today are not what they used to be like in the past! We see such behavior inundated more and more by "Hollywood" all the time on television or in movies, but does that make living together before marriage right? Who exactly sets the moral high ground on such conduct; I will let you decide? Has religious values and church teachings failed in this matter, perhaps? But I believe it is a matter of behavior, respect, conduct, and moral character on how someone approaches this decision (to move in together). More likely than not, premarital sex comes into play, as apposed to a monogamous relationship found in marriage. Accepting the fact that you are an adult, I am not judging others on this matter, but you have to admit that there HAS been a change in our society of the "social conduct" of today as compared to that of our parents.

I cannot currently live with both my partners at the same time because of lines in the sand drawn by politicians. However, I began dating my husband in High School so we dated for well over 3 years before we moved in together.

If it helps, my (now) hubbie and I dated for just over a month before I moved in with him. A year later, we were married. We've been together for 12 years now, so we obviously did something right!

First partner, dated for about 6 months before living together.
My other partner, dated for 4 months before we moved in.

Personally, both were a bit quick imo, but I in no way regret it.

After a few different visits in the span of about 5 months, we decided we wanted to live together. He moved in with me, about 1000 miles away from home for him, and then a few months later I moved back to his home with him.

My fiance and I are getting married in about 3 months. He recently started moving some things in and we are cleaning/decorating. He is moving in with me. We wanted to wait until he was done with college (I am 5 years older than him, so I am already out of college) before he moved in. I am very excited for him to move in

I met my current bf, had a couple of dates and he moved away to the country for work. During a lot of this time we spoke every day on the phone and every time we spoke he would say 'when are you coming up?'. I moved up with him for about a month about 2 months after we met. After his work ended we are still in the same neighborhood both studying and living with our parents and have sleepovers and stuff.

That's kind of a confusing question.
We've known each other since 1997
Dated for 2 months in 1998
Broke up
Stayed close friends
Got sick of dating stupid people and agreed that next time we were both single, we'd get together
Got back together in summer, 2004
Was collared October, 2004
Moved in together Feb, 2005 (had to wait for tax money)
And we all live happily ever after

I moved in with my fiance and his grandmother around a year and a half into our relationship, a few months before our two year anniversary. While I originally hadn't wanted to, it was out of necessity that I did so.

I'm glad to be living with him now, but there are still issues we are sorting out a year later. It is difficult living with someone, and I realized that before I moved in with him. But it's also very nice to have someone to sleep next to each night.

We dated only like 6 weeks, moved in together, 8 months later I bought a house, moved there and got married after 18 months of dating and living together. That was 16 years ago. July 20th will be our dating anniversary

I've never lived with a partner, which is mainly due to my age - I'm in college and live in a dorm.

Yes, personal values have changed. I don't think it's a question of what's morally right, however; I think it's a question of what's right for each individual and the couple as a whole. Similarly, just because there is premarital (or non-marital) sex going on doesn't mean that it's not monogamous. Even so, while I personally feel like monogamy is the best choice for me, who am I to make that call for someone else? Similarly, not everyone is guided by religious beliefs or a church. Some rely on their own internal moral compass which is equally valid.

We plan on it being 4 years minimum. Probably 6 though. This is mostly because of school though and our relationship going long distance for a bit. We might live together in the summers though after 4 years.
