Otherwise, try using a condom so that it doesn't get on him and putting a dark towel down so you don't ruin the sheets.

How about just having sex towards either the beginning or ending of your flow? You know, when things aren't as busy.

Condoms help, but then his penis will be covered in blood and that might be a serious turn off for him.

Also, have you considered using him with a toy inside you? This way you get what you want and he has a chance to participate. In return, you can finish him off with his choice of toy as well.

I think every person has different phobic levels about blood... I know my ex-gf, before she got her IUD, would have horrible cramps during her period and the best way around it was sexual release. So we quite often would have more sex during this time, for medicinal purposes. Quite often this is also when we would have anal sex too, because if my penis is going to need extra cleaning after sex anyway...

Have you tried talking with him? I know so many men do kind of have a stigmatic view of a woman's period... so might not be something you can really change. But maybe if he is a bit more informed about what is happening to you and how sex during that time can help and make you feel more normal, he might at least be accommodating. And if it's a visual thing, you could opt to have sex in the dark (can be exciting on occasion to get to know each other by feel only).

I was very against it when my girlfriend first asked about it, however, she convinced me to give it a try and now its a bit of a turn on for me. Feels very taboo. We do avoid the heavier days to prevent staining anything.
