1. Can you peacefully sleep with someone else in your bed? No, my Fibromyalgia pain makes it uncomfortable to sleep with anyone near me

2. Does it bother you when you are being held during sleep? I can't be touched when I sleep

3. Is your significant other the only exception to all of the above, or do you basically not like ANYONE in your bed? NOONE in my bed, sorry I would even kick out the hottest porn starlets.

4. Do you and your partner sleep in seperate beds? yes, the husband sleeps on the futon in the living room

5. Do you own a sleepnubmer bed? no, and I hated it when I tried it in the store

6. Do you own a Tempur-pedic? no, memory foam beds are not good for fibro pain because they require more muscle work to get out after you have been on it for a while, my son has a memory foam bed and I hate sitting on his bed with him.

7. How many hours of sleep do you get on avg.? because of my meds once I finally fall asleep I can do 10-14 hrs, some days I only get 3 or 4 though

8. Do you think you sleep enough? No, or at least the bags under my eyes and my energy level say I don't

9. Have you ever had/ Do you have insomnia? yes, I deal with insomnia all the time, my son also has insomnia as part of his autism symptoms, so that impacts my sleep.

I sleep alone most nights as my s/o works away from home. When he is home we share a bed and as long as it is him or my dog I don't mind sharing my bed. We have a california king memory foam mattress so there is plenty of room.

We have a good mattress, like Tempur_pedic, but it's a European version. I love it! I never really understood box springs. It's an American thing I guess.

I have a higher priced mattress (although nothing like the $5,000 one I want next) and I LOVE having my bed to myself.
I never use to have an issue sharing the bed, but I have had it to myself for quite awhile so not sure how well it would go over now.

I HATE being touched when I'm sleeping. I want to be left alone to get a good nights sleep. Try and hold me at sleep time and ya will be rejected!

When I don't let Eden rule my nights, I get 8 1/2 - 9hrs sleep. But at times, that's not enough. Bloody thyroid!

I sleep in the bed with my Master unless he's snoring too badly which sometimes happens if he drinks too much. I have an obus form mattress which is good for my back. I usually sleep between 10-12 hours a night. I have struggled a lot with insomnia.

I can sleep peacefully with my husband in the bed with me, and I don't mind being held while I sleep. If I'm already asleep and you try to hold me I might wake up, but I'll go right back to sleep. I normally get between 5-8 hours of sleep a night since I got myself on a nice schedule but I've noticed that no matter what time I go to sleep, I'll sleep til somewhere between 11 and noon. Idk what kind of mattress I have, I've had it for years now. I know that it's got the innersprings with a memory foam top. It's heavenly when I'm in the bed alone, but my husband weighs like, twice what I do so when he's in the bed too I end up straining muscles sometimes trying to maintain a position I was in before be got into bed. And I almost think I'd take having the insomnia back over never feeling fully awake most of the time. At least when I was barely sleeping I was wide awake while I was doing it, lol.

I was raised an only child and I had a hard time sleeping with an other person when My Man and I moved in together. (OMG, I couldn't sleep for weeks at the beginning of every year away at University. I would lie there and my room mates would just be there and it would keep me awake. Add not being able to....use the bathroom, as the toilets were in shared bathrooms and I was a miserable camper my first year in college. I did obtain apartments on campus for the rest of my college career, but every fall I would have weeks of insomnia.)

Our babies slept with us for the first few weeks or months of their lives and for "visits" after that for years. I got used to little people in my bed. My youngest one used to crawl out of her crib, crawl across the hall and get into the water bed in the middle of the night. She'd lift my night gown and latch herself on and I'd wake up going, "Where the hell did this baby come from?" Neither My Man nor I could remember getting up to get her some nights, but she'd be there in the morning. It was driving us crazy not knowing who got up and grabbed her, because we didn't hear her call or cry.

I finally caught her one night, as she was babbling to herself as she sneaked into our room. It was hilarious. I had to wake My Man the next time, so he could see this tiny baby doing her thing. She was little 8 month old climbing out of the crib, across the hall and into our bed. Then her brashness at just lifting my shirt and getting herself a midnight snack was the cutest!

We had to leave the crib side down, because we didn't want her falling on her head. You can't keep babies from doing things like this once they learn. So, we just went with it.

Now, I can't sleep when My Man isn't in our bed in the nighttime. (although I do fine if I get a chance, after he leaves for work.)

@P'Gell - Then her brashness at just lifting my shirt and getting herself a midnight snack was the cutest!" I love this

I can cuddle until I get too warm and then I cant anyore and roll over. The man and I don't live together so it is not a regular occurrence that we sleep in the same bed.

The girl child is allowed in my bed on weekends only and only if she asks.

I have friends crash here in my bed often. It doesnt bother me. I have a big old king size so there is enough room that I tend to forget someone else is there.

Yeah. My Man and I don't usually sleep all night cuddled together. I had a hard time learning to sleep with babies. Although I KNEW I wasn't going to roll over on them (You don't roll on babies the same way you don't fall out of bed; you just know they are there, even in deep sleep) But, it took me a while to learn to finally DO it. I was nursing my oldest, sitting on the side of our old four poster bed (it was HIGH off the hard wood floor) and I fell asleep and she started to roll off my lap! I just caught her in time.

I said to myself, "Self, you need to learn how to nurse this baby lying down, or she's going fall off the bed & break her head." So, I learned how. Quickly. Her sisters just seemed to know how to latch on while I was asleep by themselves. Convenient, I'll admit to that.

How old is your girl-child? Our youngest is eleven. FUN age.

I couldn't sleep with other people for the longest time. I'd change rooms in the middle of the night. I still have trouble if somebody is over that I don't know well (like at parties or if a room mate has a friend over), but I've gotten used to having my boyfriend in the same bed. I have trouble sleeping without him now.

I tried to hint to my guy about separate beds but he's not into it so I do my best to sleep with him. We need a king because I need more room! (and he steals the blankets!)

A bit messy poll, I'd have broken it down to mini polls as a comparative discussion or something like that!

Anyway only one thing to input is that I'm a crazy sleeper Sometimes I go to sleep at 6 in the morning to wake up between 2 and 3 in the afternoon. Other times I fall asleep at 9 (most ofthen whem I'm with her), then to wake up at 7 next morning. I did this in high school I legally skipped wednesdays and had class from 10 or 11 in the morning on most days Dunno if this is normal but my biological clock is awesomely flexible

She is 12 But she has a learning delay of about 4 years. Because of that she has not hit the tween crap yet. I am still everything in her world and she jumps at the chance to have a sleepover in the king with me.

My wife and I are very similar. When I travel neither of us sleep well - but when I'm home we don't cuddle very much in bed. It seems to be a combination of metal 'calm' associated with knowing that your SO is well and close by + the sounds of rhythmic breathing that are comforting.

she sounds so cute!!

I co-slept with my son until we was around 2.5/3 yrs old and he would latch himself on in the night as well. I was so glad to have my body to myself again when he weaned and got his own bed lol He still sleeps in my room but in his own bed now.

1. Can you peacefully sleep with someone else in your bed?

As long as I chose to allow them into my bed beforehand, yup. When I decide to stay at a friend's house and drink alcohol, I stay there. And if we're up all hours of the night watching TV, we both fall asleep on the bed we're sitting on and it doesn't bother us. I love sleepovers and I don't care what anyone else says about my age.

2. Does it bother you when you are being held during sleep?

As long as that person has permission to in some capacity (ie - not just some person walking into my room and getting in bed to cuddle me). I love snuggling so bring it on!

3. Is your significant other the only exception to all of the above, or do you basically not like ANYONE in your bed? Uh, guess I already addressed this one.

4. Do you and your partner sleep in seperate beds? Currently single but hell no, past and future.

5. Do you own a sleepnubmer bed? Nope and not interested.

6. Do you own a Tempur-pedic? Nope and not interested either.

7. How many hours of sleep do you get on avg.?

Not enough! I'd say probably 5 on average and 8 hours is a "long" sleep for me. But I just can't help staying up late.

8. Do you think you sleep enough? Hehe addressed that.

9. Have you ever had/ Do you have insomnia?

Yessss. Used to have it soooo bad. Now I just have an issue with taking a while to fall asleep and enter REM but I do better now than I used to.

I sleep best when cuddling with my man, usually 5-7 hours depending when my little one wakes up. The nights we're apart I hardly sleep more than a couple hours. I don't know if it's because he's not there or because I get so distracted with Eden all night!
I love sleeping near people. When I've had friends over and my guy isn't there, I like to sleep in the same bed as them
And when my child was younger I'd accidentally fall asleep with her all the time

I had a memory foam mattress (not tempur pedic, but a knock off brand) and I HATED it. It hurt my back so bad. I have a normal mattress and love it.

I can't sleep well next to anyone, boyfriend excluded. However, the bed has to be large enough. Sharing a twin bed is not my idea of fun, and it seems to be the only option way too often. I need about 9 or 10 hours of sleep enough, but I tend to get around 8. I definitely need more sleep!

This exactly!

I hate it when my husband is gone for a month at a time! I don't think I sleep at all when he is gone. It is absolutely awful. He doesn't get good rest either.

When he is home we usually cuddle before we fall asleep, but then sleep with some part of our bodies touching, not necessarily "holding" each other because I get too hot. Listening to him breathe, when he first falls asleep (before the snoring starts) will make me fall asleep. It's the same for him.

Our mattress is a Comfort-Pedic, very similar to a Temper-Pedic.

I tend to feel like I need a lot more sleep, but getting more doesn't help. I think my quality of sleep is extremely low; I dream most of the night and remember my dreams in the morning. It's pretty bad.

M and I share a bed when he visits my parents' house, or when I stay the night at his dorm. Otherwise we live in separate places so we sleep in separate places. Also when I visit his parents' I sleep in his bed and he sleeps downstairs on the sofa :/

Of all the polls I've taken this seems to be the most creative and all my answers ring true. In fact I just told myself... OK one more post then bed, like 5 times lol. I'm going to attempt to fry my fingers off the keyboard and go to sleep now because I have a long day.

On AVERAGE I get 6 hours of sleep. But that is at the most. I have had insomnia, and mine is recurrent. So it comes and goes, and when it stays, it stays for months at a time. Usually about 2-3 months. Right now I'm in that cycle again. When I have insomnia I usually only get 1 or 2 hours of sleep a day.

My SO and I cuddle while we fall asleep. We will split apart during the night, but maintain contact with each other usually in the form of spooning or her leg or mine draped over the other's lower extrmities. We enjoy the contact with each other while awake as well as sleeping! She tends to sleep a little more than me - she gets about 8 hrs per night, but can sometimes function ok on less for a couple of days, while I get 5-7 hrs per night with about one night per week of 8-9 hrs.

We bought a sleepnumber (well actually a competitor's version) and it is awesome. I never thought I would care, but the wife wanted one, and I can sleep on damn near anything including floors, so I thought sure why not? It is amazing! Hers is super firm and mine is right where I need it so I go down like a stone. I am good with about 5 hours of sleep a night, but she needs a good 8 usually. I usually get 5 during the work week and 6-7 on the weekends, and I am good. I don't mind falling asleep being held, but get very hot from body contact and will have to separate at some point early into the night (my internal temp is normally about 97.5 or less, so "normal" temps make me feel like I have a fever).

Yes I can sleep peacefully with my wife against my back. We don't have an expensive matress, just a foam topper. At home, typically 8-9 hours of sleep. On the road for work, 5-7 hours of sleep. I have never had insomnia.

I cannot sleep with anyone else in bed, no matter who it is. When I have to, I can sleep for no more than 3-4 hours.
Usually, I sleep 8-9 hours though.
