You can even post links to the you tube music videos of them, and analyze the lyrics to what you interpret them to mean . I am gonna love this discussion!!! Go at it! be creative and descriptive.... when did you first hear the song with your partner, what were you doing, where were you, what kind of day was it.

I love the song Melt With You, by Modern English. I was watching a movie with my boyfriend and that song was on the soundtrack and when it came on, he said something like "Oh, this was the song I wanted you to listen to!" and started singing it! Awesome!
Another one is "Bad Things" by Jace Everett - it's my ringtone and my ringback tone when he calls so we both hear it when he calls me.

The two songs that make me think of my husband is:

I'll Always Be Right There by Bryan Adams
Speechless by Michael Jackson

I've played the Bryan Adams song to him and he agrees with it. I have never mentioned Speechless to him though.

Our three songs are "Wrath Pinned to the Mist and Other Games" by Of Montreal, "Hey" by The Pixies and the ever-so-corny-one, "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green.

We don't/didn't have an "official" song. We eloped (kind of), and I told my husband if we ever had an actual ceremony, our first dance was going to be the Beatles' "When I'm 64." It's not traditionally 'romantic,' but I don't do 'romantic' very well. It's funny and real, though, and captures real love better than most 'love songs' out there.

Sigel and I chose the song 'Suddenly' by Billy Ocean
It was a sort of ritual in our High School and he gave me the choice of 'Heaven' by Brian Adams or 'Suddenly'...I chose Billy Ocean which was a good thing because he LOATHES Brian Adams. I think it was a sort of test LOL. The song is slow, sweet and very romantic which is sort of how he always made me feel. Hearing the song is like coming home.

Arch didn't listen to music much (I know right? So weird to me!) but the first song that we heard that seemed to describe the way we felt about each other was "I Want You" By Savage Garden.

My song to my Oldest child is 'Valentine' by Martina McBride. It was playing when I was in the hospital after she was born and she was conceived on or around Feb 14. Hearing it still makes me cry, joyfully mind you but ya. She was my miracle because I had been told I was barren and wouldn't be able to have children. After ten years of trying we had given up, then I got the best valentine's Day gift ever!

With My second the song was 'The Heart Of The Rose' by Air Supply. It's a haunting song that fits her because during those awful ten years when we thought we were unable to have children I kept feeling my Rose's soul. She wanted to be with us but was afraid and timid...after her sister was born she suddenly decided it was time. There's a line in the song that says,"There is no love that can become as one before it's time" and I swear it was going through my head just as she was born. I was singing it outloud as they cleaned her up and I knew she had chosen to be with us.

With Monkey the song that made all three of us cry was 'I knew I Loved You' by Savage Garden. The whole family wanted to meet him SO much and when his GrandMother heard the song she had tears in her eyes as well. We all felt like we had dreamed him into life. Such an amazing thing.

Now if I want to describe how it felt during those first few months after I met Arch in person and realized that I loved both men I will always say 'The Best Thing' also by Savage Garden. The odd thing is the song 'Complicated' by BonJovi describes Arch to a T...even he agrees. If I were to say what song reminds me of Sigel I would say 'Bounce' by Bon Jovi...it could have been written about him. It's almost scary how much it sounds like him!

Meh my life revolves around music.

Journey--Loved by You

"Every time is like the first time tenderly
Loving you is like breathing spring
Seasons change but your heart beats constantly
Count my blessing every day as you love me"

I was his first...I think of that every time I hear this song, especially because I feel so blessed to have him in my life.

That's our original song. More recently we've added Elton John--Our Song (although I still prefer the Moulin Rouge version to his...) and Lionel Richie--Lady. I feel like Journey's song is my singing to him and the other two are him singing to me. I never listened to Elton John or Lionel Richie, but he made me a mix CD of songs that reminded him of me which included both of those. I also would consider Captain--Glorious as one of our songs. We listened to it over and over and over once while making love/falling asleep to it when I was at college soon after we first met. That first weekend was magical. I never wanted it to stop, which is reflected in the lyrics. I still miss the "good ol' days". I think about them every time I hear this song. On that note as well, Frank Zappa--Stick It Out has to make the list too. It's such a weird, perverted song, but he sang it to me in German when introducing me to Frank Zappa, and i can still remember how his face lit up and he was so silly! You'd have to be silly with lyrics like:

"Fuck me you ugly son of a bitch. Stick out your hard curly weenie. Make it go fast in and out. Magical Pig! Don't get no jizz up on that sofa sofa!"

Ours is "Africa" by Toto lol. It was a song that we both liked, but didn't like to admit that we liked. So after hearing it on the radio in the car one day we decided it would be our song.

Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" , and we liked this one well before he redid it and got so popular.

Another song I think of is "Hey there, Delilah" by Plain White T's. It was on the radio a lot when we were falling in love and he had this as his ring tone for me.

Hubby and I walked down the aisle together at our 25th Anniversary ceremony to that song. LOL! We knew that our friends and family would expect something silly and out of the ordinary from us, and we did not want to disappoint.

We don't have a song we share like that, just pretty much songs we both love because they are funny, like On a Boat by Lonely Island. I don't think I listen to the right kind of music to be hearing songs that we'd have as "our song."

I wouldn't call it "our song" really, but our first dance when we got married was to "I Dare You" by LeAnn Rimes. Our musical tastes don't coincide very often.

Ours is "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. Cheesy, I know But to be honest, we don't ever make a point of listening to it or anything, we just smile at each other when we hear it.

My boyfriend and I's song is "She's the One" by Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street band.

link

He played this song on an i-pod and told me to put in the earphones while he asked me out. We had dated previously, but this time is so much better and this song always makes me smile and makes me think of how much he cares about me and how much effort he puts into our relationship now. Plus we both love Bruce's music, so to have one song is great.

It also makes me laugh because Bruce himself has said about the song that "It makes good girls go bad, and bad girls get even worse." Haha. It is a fantastic song.

We have 2 unofficial songs I guess, being Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" (that is my ringtone for him), and Kings of Leon "Sex on Fire" (that is his ringtone for me).

Though we've never officially declared a song to be ours, the song that came to mind when you asked that question was The Asshole Song by Jimmy Buffet. (I guess neither of us is what you'd call the "romantic" type, huh? )

We have more than one now but our first was the most profound. We started dating officially shortly after meeting. Every time we were together "Falling For You" by Colbie Callait would play and it was just perfect.

I had pretty much given up on living when I met my husband. He literally saved my life, though he didn't know it at the time. The song, "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence had just come out about that time, and hearing it always made me think of how my sweetie, brought me back to life.

When we got married, we debated doing our first dance to "Bring Me to Life", but decided that its overall tone was too depressing for a wedding, so we danced to the original Japanese theme song from the anime "The Vision of Escaflowne". Although, the anime itself was not our favorite, we both had strong feelings about the song. It also made for a very nice Viennese waltz.

well my bf that past away(he was my last boyfriend..now just have friends)we were together for 9yrs.through good and many bad times. He picked our songs.."picture" by sheryl crowe and kid rock because it really described our relationship when we got together."patience" by guns and roses...because we both LOVED THE SONG and I guess he wanted me to have patience with him!lol. We both love/loved music..all kinds .Even though our relationship was very rocky we knew each other inside and out,and he was a true romantic and would do anything for me(thats why I dealt with alot!).He made a cd for me right before he got sick with cancer with those 2 songs and many more that we loved on it,but one I hadnt heard before and when I listened to it I started to cry and asked him why he put that on there..he said because it was true.It was kenny chesney"nothing but a memory".Anyways, now that he has passed whenever I hear these songs I get a mix of emotions.I want to cry, laugh, smile.but the "nothing but a memory" I always cry...
